the pillow was super comfy, i loved it, the room and bedsheets are clean, the staff is super friendly Thilinaa Fernando was super nice, he went out of his way to find me a tuktuk last minute to tour me around and suggested where to go since i didn't want to lose the day i arrived.

Super friendly and welcoming staff. They even invited us to a New Year Eve firework celebration and a super delicious New Year breakfast next day. The hotel is also very close to the Dambulla Golden Temple and caves.

The service was exceptional. The staff remains at your call at all times, always with big bright smiles. Less than a 100 meters from the nearest bus station, perfect for cruising through the country. The pool feels straight outta paradise, truly dreamlike. Props for them putting on the AC some time before we arrived so the room would be cool once we entered.

There was no bedside lamp, so no option to have low lighting in the evening

We (two German women) had a very good stay at the White Land City Hotel. The room is solid, clean and perfectly adequate for one night. The outdoor area was particularly nice, very new and very inviting to spend a few hours by the pool. The service was outstanding, however. The hotel staff, especially Thilinaa, were very attentive and helpful. They even organized a very quick and safe trip from Dambulla to Ella for us. So nice! The service is definitely a huge plus! This made our first day and our first night in Sri Lanka easier and made our start in this great country easier. We would highly recommend the accommodation.

Bathroom could have done with some attention. Watch out for the service charges. The place was deserted when we were there and dambulla in general doesn't have a grsta deal to offer but it's walkable to the rock temple.

Lovely large, clean room and bathroom, with great aircon and power shower. We stepped out of our room onto the patio with a superb pool. Nice wooden eating area with good food. Breakfast was also good and served on the patio. The staff are very attentive and polite, especially Sugarth, who looked after us. This is a magnificent place to stay.

The hotel is located very conveniently close to the main Dambulla bus stand and in close proximity to the town if you want to head to a supermarket or grab some food. The staff were very helpful, the facilities worked very well. The toilets and the rooms were very clean and had amenities such as hot water, shower gels and shampoo. It was definitely a value for money stay.

Most importantly they acted incredibly casual and unapologetic about the fact that when my girlfriend used the hairdryer it erupted in 15 cm flames that nearly burn the hair of her head. The day after the broken hairdryer was still not disposed off which makes us worry about future guests. That's unacceptable. Secondly, the lock of our room got jammed (due to apparently an impossibility to turn the key twice) and needed some last minute fix. The door itself also didn't completely locked (there was an opening at the top). If you pay by card, you will be charged an extra fee so bring cash. Finally not a huge deal but the free water dispenser was always off so the water was warm. What kind of saving measure is that!?

The swimming pool was great. The staff was mostly polite and correct. The free water is always welcome. The bedroom was very comfortable. Sri Lankan breakfast quite nice.

No lift, but the staff helped us with our bags

We had a king room overlooking the pool area. The room was large with a very large, comfortable bed. The bathroom was large and well laid out, and the shower was good. The pool and deck area were lovely, but the pool had no shade. The outdoor restaurant was also lovely but had a lot of mosquitoes around. We ate indoors once, and the food was OK. The location is very close to town, and plenty of restaurants were nearby. It was very quiet in an off-street location. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The room was a bit dirty: hair on the bed and dirt on the floor. The bathroom screen was broken and the bathtub had no drain. Water came out of the shower. There was no place to hang towels. The bathroom smelled musty.

Just take the deluxe room with a pool view.

We recommend the deluxe room because considering the price is really worth it. The breakfast was good and the swimming pool was amazing, open 24h. The staff was really nice, especially Thilinaa F. Who helped us a lot with his recommendations and advice.
