Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaLimited charging access for your devices and there is no cell reception in the camp. Could be a good thing to disconnect with social media and revel in nature; could be annoying if you are going on a full day hike and you like the idea of safety a fully charged phone provides. No dealbreaker for me, but some people might mind that.
- Great location in the middle of nowhere, with beautiful surroundings and great views of the mountains. It was quite a tough road to get there, but worth it. Lots of fireflies on the way :) - The staff was great and very helpful with every request or question we had. - The barbeque dinner was delicious. - I like that it was eco-focused.

IrelandNothing, the team were so accommodating (especially Banu who was our host & Vignesh who served us for our meals, we felt very well looked after)
So peaceful!! This was a true highlight of our trip. The beds in the tents were soooo comfy, we ended up extending for two extra night. We went on a really great hike with our guide Banu too who was so knowledgeable, it really topped off the experience for us. If you’re looking for something off the tourist track and really in nature this is definitely the place to book.

IsraelFirst of all, the way to get there already starts the feeling of adventure. A 4×4 vehicle picks you up for an off-road experience. When you arrive an intimate and dedicated staff greets you, the hotel manager welcomes you and explains everything that awaits you while the rest make sure your luggage reaches your tent. The tent has a private toilet and shower with hot water all the time. And their hiking trails are just crazy! The guide who joins you is dedicated and full of knowledge and will take you to magical and stunning places!

NetherlandsWe loved everything!
Our 2 days in Knuckles Wild Glamping were our favourite days in Sri Lanka! Everyone was so friendly. Bankua helped us find our way there (as we drove ourselves and arrived at night). And Sajith guided us on our 14km hike to the waterfall. We learned so many interesting things from him and by the time we had to leave, it felt like we had made a new friend! Also, the food was so delicious! We loved the breakfast, lunch and BBQ dinner! Thank you all so much for making our stay so memorable. We hope that we can return one day.

United KingdomI don’t usually write negative reviews but felt like I should. We booked this as a treat (it was much more expensive than our other accommodation on the trip but it sounded amazing and the reviews looked good). We firstly met the jeep at the meeting point and immediately were sent off on a walk with a guide who we hadn’t requested and handed a ‘gift’ of snacks (which we were then later charged for). It turned out that this walk was going to cost $70. The snack box even included sausages after telling them in advance that we were vegetarian. This was just a bit unpleasant and we felt a bit scammed - we just asked for recommendations for a local walk but were hurriedly sent off with the guide with no communication from the manager. We then went for dinner in the evening, and it was a meat bbq. The bbq is done inside the restaurant tent, so is incredibly smoky and smells of meat. As a vegetarian, we were only offered noodles with ketchup, or, after we asked for something Sri Lankan, we were given the breakfast meal (Dahl and coconut Sambal) which we were happy with, but disappointed that this was the meal when we’d paid a lot to be here and had had so much better food throughout our trip. The staff were very friendly but really wasn’t what we expected. Overall, it’s an incredibly lovely location but for the price, we don’t think it was value for money. It’s a real shame as the glampsite really has a lot of potential but the communication and service wasn’t quite there.
Location is really nice - in the mountains with lovely views and you can see fire flies from the tent at night. The guide we had (via the glampsite) was very friendly, knowledgeable and good fun.
