Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

BelarusBreakfast is very good. And this hotel has good value for money. The location is certainly not very close to the center, but it is convenient to get there by any transport, even by tram. Parking is free!

Very friendly staff, good option free parking area, good level breakfast for 3 stars hotel. Not bad location.

EstoniaGetting there by car in the dark was really difficult. The turning point from the street should be visibly marked.
The room was spacious, but the street noise during the night was quite disturbing. I recommend bringing earplugs. Parking was very convenient right in front of the door. The breakfast had enough choice and, the coffee was very tasty.

LatviaIt was a dissapointment to byu a package of tea one glass for 2 Euro at the reception - too much way expensive and, most dissapointing that tea was produced and purchased form Russia - agressor country. Receptionist had a badge that the peson is from Ukraine, however, receptionist didn't speak Ukrainian. So he spoke Russian and English. I also heard a lot of Russion langayge around the hotel. I am not against any language Russian included, but during the agressive and fully unhuman Russia terror, usage of this langauge shall be limited.
There was a possibility to have a coffee or hot water from the same machine.

Very convenient for young people travelling together. Combination of price and minimum needed: public transport just in front of the hotel, spacious room to sleep, get shower and pretty good breakfast you can eat as much you can - perfect.

AzerbaijanThis hotel is my usual spot to stay in Riga. It has changed name maybe couple of times, and currently is under Rija group. I highly recommend VEF hotel, not only to solo travellers like me. Is a usual place to stay for different sport teams, also ideally suits for couples. To stay at same kind of hotel at heart of Riga, you'll have to pay 2-3 times more. The bus/tram stop is right near the hotel.
