Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe hotel is lovely and the staff are fantastic. Zac is an exceptional host, he is extremely helpful. He even went to the station to buy our tickets, which we could not manage online. The cook made delicious pizzas for us on our last evenjng, in fact, we wished we had tried her tagines. Next time we will eat in the hotel more often. This riad us looked after with care, and provides an authentic, comfortable, peaceful environment, with trees, plants and many small birds enjoying the pleasures of the green plants, even nesting in the courtyard. The area is very interesting, with Bahia palace just round the corner, and the herb market. We discovered lovely restaurants in the area. It was a far better location than nearer to the medina.

United KingdomBeds are very hard - not good if you have back, neck or hip problems.
Friendly, clean, beautiful. Gorgeous layout, with an oasis in the middle of the building and a sun terrace on the roof. Great location (if you don’t mind wiggling through the alleyways). Fabulous breakfast.

PortugalOur room wasn’t soundproof at all. We felt like everyone could hear anything we said and we could also hear everything that was happening in the main hall (altough it was very quiet most of the times)
All the staff was super nice and helpful! The breakfast is very simple but exactly what we needed! The location is right next to the Bahia Palace, 10 minute walk from the main square.

FinlandDar Crystal was a beautiful riad in the Marrakech medina. The location is excellent; short distances by walking everywhere, but still a quiet place in the night. Our room was beautiful and cosy. The best thing was staff; Zak and Mehdi were friendly and Zak especially gave us a lot of information and advice regarding where to visit, how to go there and how much should we pay for things. The warm breakfast was cooked and served to us the time we wanted (between 8-10). We can warmly recommend Dar Crystal!

GermanyOur room was a bit tiny for the price. There was very little space to move around.
The location is very good. Close to Bahia palace and the Djema el Fnaa is less than 10min walk away. The Dar is beautiful, the courtyard is very well set. The terrace is a nice place to chill in the evenings. At the check in we were greeted Mehdi, a very kind and competent guy. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and settle. He shared us the map for Marrakesh Medina and gave us some helpful hints. He also gave us his contact number to contact if needed. He prepared for us fruits for the day we had to leave early for a tour. It was a very pleasant experience for us.

United KingdomWorth downloading maps.me (which works without wifi / data but uses your location - lesson learned) to help find the Riad as it's not a street a taxi can pull up in front of, so the last few metres need to be on foot.
This was sweet and blissful stay! The Riad is located down a quiet side street at the mouth of the Medina, near the Jewish quarter and nestled between the Bahia and Badi palaces, which made the location feel a wonderful secret yet central. It also sits at the start to streets that lead up to the Medina, so you are near to everything you need to visit and explore. The interior is beautiful; like all Riads, the magic is on the inside, behind old wooden doors that you wouldn't think housed such an oasis. Inside here were cool white pillars, a plunge pool, an open atrium, and in the centre an old palm tree as tall as the building, proving this Riad's authenticity (whilst providing homes to the birds that great you with a dawn chorus on sunrise). They have a superb terrace from which you can see the Atlas Mountains and across the city. The room was comfortable and I slept well. The staff, Zaq and Mahdi, were incredibly welcoming and helpful. I initially had trouble finding the street, yet Mahdi kindly ventured out to collect me. They later helped with orienteering, pointing out where to go on the map, explaining the history of the area, best places to eat, so you wouldn't need a guide book. They also took care of my luggage so I could explore the city before a late flight, post check-out. I only stayed for one night, and it was hard to leave.. The memory of watching the sun rise from their perfect terrace is one of the best memories from my trip to Marrakesh. I will definitely return, to the city and to this Riad.

United KingdomOur room was facing the patio which made it a bit noisy. Also, we had to keep windows closed when we wanted privacy because the windows were facing the patio were other guests were sitting. The bed was too hard, it wasn't very comfortable.
Dark Cristal is beautifully decorated, it's patio is astonishing!. Such a stylish place :). It's staff were welcoming, helpful and true professionals who enjoy their job. Mahdi was such an attentive staff who looked after us taking care of every detail. We really appreciated Mahdi's recommendations, good manners and sense of humour. We'll definitely visit Mahdi in our next trip to Marrakesh. Thanks Mahdi! A real pleasure meeting you !!

ItalyThe beds are a little bit hard but it is something very common in all the country, we found the same kind of beds in every hotel.
The Riad was very nice, near all the attractions but in a quite zone. It is a kind of peace oasis in the caos of the city. In the night the street to arrive to the riad could seem a little bit scaring but I think that it is something very common in Marrakech, anyway we didn't have any problem. Mahdi the host is a fantastic person, always ready to help you, and he is a plus to the place. Breakfast is very very nice. I recommend this riad to everyone that want to pass some nights in Marrakech
