The location on google maps is wrong and it was very hard to find. A sign on the main road could help. There is no bathroom door, therefore no privacy. The Medina area is very busy and noisy.

All staff were very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was really good. We tried their lamb tagine for dinner once and it was delicious.

Not negative (as I've given it a 10 out of 10) but might be helpful for others, as I know people read the negative comments carefully: We arrived late in the evening as our flight was delayed, and it was not immediately easy to find the entrance to the riad in the narrow alleyways of the Medina. However, you need to understand that this is the nature of the Medina and would be the same for any other Riad. It is a labyrinth of very narrow streets where no taxi can ever go. This is an adventure in a positive way and you need to understand this when you come and visit the Medina for the first time. I recommend checking via WhatsApp with the owner/staff on the arrival day; they are very helpful. Someone can pick you up, or the transfer can show you the way the first time. We never had a problem finding the Riad again after we got there; it is easy to get there. So don't get me wrong, this is not a negative point, but if you have never experienced the Medina before, check with the staff on your arrival day to make it easy for you and start your vacation without any stress :-)

We came from Germany for 5 nights and it was our first time im Marrakech! Overall we were very happy with this Riad, so I took some time to write this review and hope it will help others. This Riad is such a beautiful and traditional place to stay inside the Medina and a good starting point to explore the Medina. Its cozy size, with merely 4 rooms (as we understood), ensures privacy and a personal touch with the staff, who are more than willing to engage in conversations, offering tips and recommendations if you want. Breakfast at the Riad was a highlight of each day, with a delightful variety that changed daily. From assorted fruits, pancakes, and marmalade to traditional Moroccan delicacies, fresh orange juice, and coffee or tea. Also the staff explained us about the traditional marrocane food when we asked. The Breakfast is not a buffet, but served on several plates to one of the four only tables which we liked it a lot! Upon our arrival evening, despite our flight's late schedule, we opted for the "Discovery menu." Even when our flight was delayed, resulting in a late dinner at 10:30 PM, it was not an issue; the meal was excellently prepared. Communication with the Riad via WhatsApp was seamless, ensuring they were always within reach and responsive to our needs. We had a room on the first floor which was very nice. It is nicely decorated and offers everything you need. We also got water battles for the room/night at a very low price, so no need to go to a supermarket. Even when the Riad is located in the narrow alleyways of the medina, you have a good taxi-spot just a 1 minute walk away at the Mosque "Derb Baba Ali Mosque" or on Google maps "Ali mosque door driveway" - For all our Taxi drivers we gave them this Mosque to go back to the riad and it was never a problem. From there it is only a 1 minute walk. The Riad also has a very nicely decorated rooftop where you can enjoy the sun and have a tea.

    - Location, no fault of the riad themselves but it can be challenging to find the first time as there is no signs saying where the riad is, but the staff are happy to help and meet you at the mosque which is a few seconds walk from the riad. - No full body mirror. Again this is a minor detail and not so much of an issue but a heads up if you are someone who likes to see their outfit in full view in the mirror it is not possible as there are plenty of mirrors, just not any which are full body sized.

    - Very clean inside the riad. - Very comfortable and welcoming. - Rooms cleaned everyday with fresh towels. - Nice & quiet relaxing space, perfect to chill out or do some work by the pool. - Good breakfast selection with plenty of food. - Very friendly & welcoming staff. They were lovely and happy to help you with any questions you may have. - Can provide a cooked dinner if spoken with staff in advance. - Massage room. - Nice rooftop terrace space, seating area on rooftop with a sunbathing area with sun loungers too. - Complimentary Moroccan tea & biscuits when you arrive.

Only minus is wrongly shown location on google maps; as its directs you on the other side of the street. So, in the beginning you are lost but after day or two you are getting use to it!

Everything was just amazing. The staff, Abdul & Kamal were very friendly and helpful, riad looked exactly like on pictures, purely amazing. Breakfast was delicious, the room design is just beautiful and the housing staff did really good job. Highly recommend this as its location is really close to main square in Marrakesh!

Beautiful Riad. Cosy to sit at night with candles and Marrocan wine. Friendly staff and nice hammam and massage. I liked that there were only 4 rooms. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was a bit different the 2 mornings, which I like!

It’s a little bit difficult to find as Google maps doesn’t show the accurate alleys however this is not the fault of the Riad and once you walk to it from the main road twice or three times it’s quite easy to remember. Please be aware there will be individuals who shout baba Ali at you or that the road is closed to try and confuse you, but just ignore it and they will leave you alone.

The property was very clean, cosy and we used the terrace a lot which was nice for quiet evenings to get away from the busy medina. There was a variety of different Moroccan style dishes for breakfast every day and the staff were very accommodating. The cleaners cleaned the room every day and made sure we had fresh towels which was very appreciated as we were always out the door very early.

The only thing is that although the location is good, it is located in the main strip of the busiest road to the medina, which can be overwhelming at the beginning. The souks get less daunting as the days go by and the main road is very local. Finding the Riad can be a bit tricky because apparently there is a Riad named Ali Baba nearby (not Baba Ali), we were led there by the local kids which are very nice but very curious. Additionally, the Riad is located beside a mosque so if you’re a light sleeper might want to bring some earplugs.

There wasn’t much to dislike! We’ve had a lovely experience in this Riad. We always felt extremely well looked after, got really good tips for being in Marrakech, had the trips we wanted organised for us with transport. Facilities were great too! The room was cleaned every day while we were out so we had new sets of towels everyday. The breakfast was always nice (mainly on the sweet side though which isn’t everyones cup of tea) the host always brought out a full table of breads, pancakes, eggs, fruits and tea and fresh orange juice. The atmosphere was very warm and relaxing and our hammam lady was very nice too.

We chose the Riad Baba Ali for our company retreat and couldn't have made a better choice. The riad has 8 beautifully furnished rooms with private bathrooms, which made for a very pleasant stay for the whole team. The fact that we had the riad exclusively to ourselves enhanced the experience even more. The location is perfect and we were able to reach all the important landmarks on foot. The house is beautifully furnished and always welcomed us with very pleasant quietness. The heated pool was also very popular, especially in the evenings. Abdel, the host, was outstandingly proactive, extremely polite and impressed us with his very pleasant and professional manner. The absolute highlight was the food, which was prepared in traditional Moroccan style and was rated by the whole team as the best meals of the trip. Thanks again to Abdel and the team for this excellent stay! All the best for your future, you really did an amazing job!

The twin room is quite small when there are 2 people in it. Towels were a bit used... Internet wasn't great but these are just small things...

This Riad is just amazing!!! The moment I walked through the Riad's door, I knew it was an excellent choice. I arrived on a rainy day (so unusual for Marrakesh) and straight away felt welcomed, warm and safe. Abdel picked me up from a taxi, which stopped just a few steps from the Riad, offered me a traditional mint tea and gave me all information which proved to be so useful during my stay in Marrakesh. The Riad has only 4 rooms and you will feel like at home. The food was very good. All staff, Abdel, Abella and Kamal are such great, kind and helpful guys, I can't thank them enough as thanks to them my first impression of Marrakesh and Marocco was unforgettable. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They responded to all requests within seconds, arranged a great massages within a very short notice and recommended the best trips. I would stay here again and recommend it to everyone!! I would advise to book a taxi transfer from airport with the Riad, you may pay a few euros more but you will be taken care of and won't get lost. Massages are very good, too. Also a few meters from the Riad is one of the best restaurants in Marrakesh - upscale and not expensive - make sure you try it. Le Foundouk - it was recommended to me by Abella. Thank you guys for everything!! This Riad is so great thanks to you all!

The arrival at the Riad felt like stepping into a little oasis. Beautiful incents, the pool is heated and super comfortable, just the whole interior is splendid. We were greeted by Abdel who welcomed us so warmly we felt right at home. He was a great support and contact person during our whole stay, always willing to help and providing excellent service! The room was stunning and we slept in one of the most comfortable beds ever. Breakfast was served for us on the roof terrace with a stunning view over the medina and the nice morning sun that warms you through to get ready for the day. We arrived via car and parking was no problem. Want to point out as well that the breakfast, dinner, and tea were delicious! Best we had in Marrakesh. Thank you so much for having us!
