Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe guesthouse felt quite cramped, being essentially a small family home with 3 guest rooms as well as a family of 4 living there - all sharing one bathroom. Our room was essentially a thoroughfare to another room. The guest in that room had to walk through our room to get in/out including to access the bathroom in the night. As two male friends with another male (who we ended up getting on well with) in the other room it wasn't necessarily an issue for us, but I can see that being a problem for a lot of people, especially the fact there was no way for our room to be secure.
The location was perfect, easy to access driving in to Zabljak, and just a short walk from shops and restaurants. The owners gave us good recommendations for nearby places to eat. The room was comfortable, and the house was warm. Parking right outside was very helpful, especially as we had a couple of stormy days. Breakfast was basic but good (usually bread, jam and coffee) but for the price of the room cannot complain - and the owners were happy to be flexible with timing of this depending on our plans. The guesthouse was very affordable overall (though be aware it is cash only) and we would stay here again

AustriaFirst night we had a room, where another guest had to cross. However, next day we were offered another room. Sometimes the waiting time for the shared bathroom was a bit long.
Distance to supermarket and restaurant by foot was very good. Very friendly hosts, good breakfast.

IrelandJust that the house was a little creaky. Trying to tip toe in when it’s passed bed time so you didn’t want to wake the hosts or other guests
Only for the language barrier, they were lovely hosts.

GermanyThe breakfast was not as we expected, it was not as it was shown in the picture, and it is less than the minimum. The toilet wasn't very clean, unfortunately.
The location is great, the host is friendly and the room is satisfying.

PolandBathroom shared with other guests and hosts (we were there after the season so it wasn’t super busy but I can imagine it must be a problem during the summer. Also, it was just not extremely comfortable). The steps to the first floor were very narrow and steep - not a problem for us but could be for little children or older people.
Location - very close to the market, restaurants and hiking trails. Room was big and the host makes excellent Turkish coffee (also it was nice to have a breakfast included in the price)

SerbiaThe stairs are really steep and narrow. Floors are squeaky. We were not aware that one single room can be approached only through our twin room (making us the part of the corridor), which was inconvenient. The host however arranged everything so to allow us to use our room without others passing through it.
House is small but nice. It is well located - close to the centre and main road. Breakfast was nice and we had no problem using a shared bathroom. Hosts helped us find our way around Zabljak and the surrounding.

AustriaThe beds were quite loud and our room was next to another bedroom. The person sleeping in that bedroom had to pass through our room, when he was leaving the guesthouse or went to the toilet.
The breakfast was good, the location also. Clean room and bath.

United Arab EmiratesI wrongly booked this without realising it is a shared bathroom with host and not a house for all of us. And very congested and need to climb narrow steps. It is not good for families. But for bachelors it may be fine. When u walk on the floor and turn on the bed it has creeky sound and not comfortable.
Host was good and nice. Basic breakfast bread and jam and Turkish coffee.

FranceIt didn't bother me, but you should know that the family lives in the house and only 1 bathroom for the whole house
Cosy house and room for those who don't need too much confort. Personally I slept very well and fell like at home with the wooden style and some posters on the wall of the room :) my room was after a double room, so to go to the toilet downstairs you had to pass through this room, but it was empty so it didn't bother me. The breakfast was enough (2 "croissants" but that get you full with 1 cafe and butter and marmelade), it depends what you need to do during the day.
