How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

WiFi was patchy, slightly better in the room (though still not good enough for video calls) but problematic in the meeting room downstairs; perhaps it was a temporary problem as someone said that there were WiFi problems in the city those days.
Very clean and comfortable room; very friendly, polite and professional staff; excellent restaurant for lunch and dinner, delicious and great value.

This is something really minor, but a hook or rail to hang the hand towel right next to the basin would be useful.
I had a lovely experience at Le Grand Mellis. My room was comfortable and cleaned everyday. The restaurant is halaal so I ate every meal there, considering that our workshop was also hosted there. The food is of the best I ever had while traveling; in terms of flavour, variety and quality. I enjoyed being able to have Malagasy food (other options are also available) and the immune booster shots at breakfast were great. The staff are really friendly and kind and even more so when I could not fully understand their French. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and I will certainly recommend to others. Great stay and service!

The wifi could be better. Every time I left the hotel, it logged me out and I had to always key in the user name and password. The room could be better with lighting on the desk for business travelers who want to work at night.
A very receptive front office though they struggled with English. I liked the restaurant within the hotel. They make sumptuous meals without long waits. The wifi in the restaurant worked very well and they have a good basic gym that can serve anyone who wants to go to the gym while traveling.

Didn’t feel super safe walking around outside as a tourist. The pool was also covered up both days of our stay, which was odd.
We enjoyed the location, gym, Indian restaurant, and bedroom was comfortable. We also used the spa services to get a cheap message which was nice.

No complaints, the hotel offered a pleasant stay.
The facilities were great and the staff professional. The hotel is only 30 minutes from the airport which was the main appeal for booking in the first place.

Member of staff was caught in our room by my girlfriend with jewelry bag in her hand hiding in the toilet. Multiple staff were colluding together to steal with people watching outside. The hotel did nothing to remedy the situation except for one lady who was at reception she helped a lot with communication. Police were called and tried to blame us. I had to break the door to my room for the safety of my girlfriend. The hotel security proceeded to lock me inside of reception and demand payment for broken door. I left my phone at reception due to stress and the security did not allow me to return to get it. I got my phone the next day and I was informed there will be a police case against me unless I pay 500€. I had to pay.. the lady who was caught in our room filed a police case against us claiming she was beaten up attached with a fake medical report. For the next 2 days we spent at the police station fixing the case and ended up bribing police and having to pay the lady who tried to steal from us 200€ to resolve the case so we can fly back home. Nightmare. You would be a fool to book here it's an absolute disgrace how the hotel handled the situation. They even went back to my room and made me pay for the m&Ms I ate and 2 beers from the fridge it is not a money issue however there was no gesture of 'sorry' or attempt by the hotel to remedy a terrible situation which was cause by multipleembers of their staff. STAY THE F**K AWAY!!!!!!

I was ifve mins late to order my food from the restaurant, I was told that the restaurant is closed even though people where still waiting for their order. I will suggest if a client is 5 mins late to order his food (14.05) the person in charge could be a bit flexible.
Breakfast was good for the price. Next time I will request for a room with balcony and a better view outside

constant loud noise in room, like water was running through the walls, unplugged the fridge but that did not help. Most awful breakfast, a true shame. For the price you pay here, Tana has much better options.
