This is a family-run hotel with a great and friendly owner and helpful, English-speaking receptionists. My single bedroom was small but clean and big enough for a 2-night stay. The room equipped fan, on arrival small bottle of water prepared for me. The location is perfect. Close to the lake, city center, banks, restaurants and supermarkets. From the balcony, you can overlook the city and see Rova which is about a 2.5 KM walk / 25 minutes. Breakfast is available as well as dinner but with advance notice. The hotel is safely guarded by a doorman 24 hours a day. The secure airport pick up / drop off (as a paid service) can be arranged. Convenient for my late 22:10 arrival without any hassles and worries about taking a taxi. For my second stay they even upgraded me to a better double room with a bathroom. Debit cards accepted.

This accommodation was a good value for money. Unfortunately, the owner does not speak English but he’s able to communicate via Google translator. He tried his best for me to feel at home and he was very attenuative and friendly. My room was a little bit dim due to a small window but spotlessly clean, with a comfy bed and mosquito netting and of good size. Be advice there is no internet or WIFI but I understood that you can borrow a router fall small fee to use internet. Around the hotel many restaurants, the Croc farm about 45 min / 4.5 km walk, and also a great big gym which I used since I had still spare time before my night flight. Walk to the airport by mora mora (slow) walk 20 min, taxi also available.

I had a lovely experience at Le Grand Mellis. My room was comfortable and cleaned everyday. The restaurant is halaal so I ate every meal there, considering that our workshop was also hosted there. The food is of the best I ever had while traveling; in terms of flavour, variety and quality. I enjoyed being able to have Malagasy food (other options are also available) and the immune booster shots at breakfast were great. The staff are really friendly and kind and even more so when I could not fully understand their French. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and I will certainly recommend to others. Great stay and service!

This is something really minor, but a hook or rail to hang the hand towel right next to the basin would be useful.

I chose this hotel because of the location. It’s not right on the beach but nearby. Everything is close by, the post office, food market, especially Cotisse shuttle just 500 m (convenient if you Take a shuttle from TANA arriving around 22-23. . Beach around 500 m or 15 15-minute walk for a nicer part but till 2 pm low tide. The room and as well bathroom are spacious, and equipped with a TV and fan. On-site restaurant if needed but I recommend the food market or street stalls. The price was good value for money.

The hotel ground are quite literally stunning. You have a private beach with incredible sunsets every night. There is a pool and the dining area looks out over the ocean. The staff are so so helpful and sort out everything for you and all of your itineraries. They also sorted all of our transport to and from the hotel. There are turtles in the water which you can snorkel and see and you can also take boat trips around the island. I really recommend this place, it’s totally unique!

Very pleasant indeed with an atmosphere that is tranquil. The selection of breakfast is great. The staff is very welcoming and eager to assist at all times during my staff. I love vegetables in the morning an the hotel did great for me in serving veggies.

The breakfast was mediocre for a 2 star property the kitchen was closed m so i was told to buy food from outside the shower full cubicle was broken there was no toilet seats Cleaning of the room and adjacent was a big issue The cupboard door was broken and doors could not be closed The Tv was being tuned by the security officer but ooo Lots of improvement needed .......

On again off again power. No hot water shower. Bed extremely firm to hard. Meals expensive Check out a mess with no internet connection for card transactions. Cash only as 2 million Ariary. Not good
