Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesLighting on the paths at night could be improved in some spots but nothing dangerous.
The hotel is situated on the West side of the island with fantastic view of sunsets. It is secluded in its own bay. They have some bungalows with ocean views and I would highly recommend that you try to get one. You will have an unobstructed view of the sunset. The only downside to these bungalows is to get to the highest one it is a hike up the stone stairs but it's worth it. The bungalows vary in size and priced accordingly. The food is ranges from good to great. Great Staff. All speak French and Malagasy. English fluency ranged from good to just a little. The entire staff is Malagasy. The grounds are well maintained as well as all the structures.

Czech RepublicThe hotel is very closely connected with the local residents. So there are children on the beach and adults on the bench. In the same way, the hotel area is constantly accessible and someone can wake you up in the morning. The garden and the houses are well designed and very nice, but someone needs to take care of them further.
A beautiful place, a beach right next to the hotel, a bay for snorkeling, beautiful corals, turtles and fish. If you are in the right season, you will see whales, dolphins and maybe even a giant shark on your trip. Patrik prepared the food excellently. The house for accommodation is stylish. We only spoke English, which is generally a problem on Nosy Be, but we were looked after very well by Sara. A romantic place, but with a caveat. Overall, I recommend the hotel.

NetherlandsAlthough chef Patrick actively discusses the menu and caters to your wishes (ingredients permitting...), the variation could be increased. The bay and beach are really nice, but the number of beds and parasols to enjoy it are limited.
The location was fantastic, super quiet, and the staff was very friendly and attentive.

EthiopiaWhile the resort's secluded location offered a quiet and peaceful stay, there were limited food options with only three choices for all meals which was disappointing. There weren't many activities to do (e.g. there was no pool or kayaking available); however, the resort was undergoing some construction, which hopefully would lead to improvement in the coming months. Overall, while the stay had some drawbacks, we remain hopeful that the resort's improvements will make for an amazing future stay.
The resort provided a great experience. The location was absolutely breathtaking, surrounded by nature which added to the tranquility and peacefulness of the stay. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, always going above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The rooms were spacious, well-maintained, and provided stunning views of the ocean and the surrounding flora. Overall, we had a good time at this resort, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable vacation.

United KingdomI would advise to prepare before coming - some of the mosquito nets are ripped but even without this, the bungalows do see a lot of insects inside so bring insect repellent - I believe you can ask at Reception for mosquito incense (otherwise really difficult to sleep). Do come prepared for unforeseen emergencies as there is only a small dispensary in the village and no other access to pharmacy / doctor on the island itself but rather on Nosy Be which is not too far but far enough to take a full day to get to and back again.
As everyone has commented, the food was fantastic. Very fresh fish and zebu steaks prepared with fresh vegetables and nice sauces. Great breakfast with both coffee and tea, fresh juice and fruit and crepes. Although probably expensive by local standards, it felt like a very fair price for a full day of food. The Island is beautiful, very quiet and well kept social space and beautiful gardens with flowers, palm trees, banana trees etc. You have access to your own private beach with deck chairs, towels and umbrella and the view from the bungalows is beautiful. This is a place to relax but wifi is very good - better than in a lot of places. You can hike around the Island and go into the village which is on a beach (30-35 min walk) and also the manager is good at organising activities such as boat tours around the islands and to swim with turtles! All the members of staff are really great and try to engage in conversation- both French and English if possible. I needed to head to the town for medicine and I was kindly escorted by a member of staff for which I am very grateful and appreciative.

United KingdomThe manager was very helpful with everything we wanted and needed. We had beautiful bungalows with sea views up on the hill. The beach was clean and there were shaded places to lie on beds on the beach. The cove is lovely and private and we watched turtles come up for air in the bay. Welcome drinks and hot cloths were a nice touch. We walked to the village which is on a stunning beach, 30 min walk where you see Lemurs, chameleons, frogs, crabs etc. take the time to look for wildlife. At the beach village there are a few places to get a drink and a meal. take a boat to swim with the turtles at high tide as they are massive and just hang out eating the sea grass. It’s magical.

ItalyNot ideal if you expect any sort iof sociale life. In the island there is only small local village. The bungalow are spacious but more care should be put in ensuring functionality including Matteesses, towels door safe. In general the services was BASIC and not muvh care given by the manager to improvvisamente itm
The location is great in terms of sea and the little bay where is located. There are no amenities around a part a small villagge accessibile with 30 min walk or by boat. I liked the nature.and possobiluty to see turtles, whales and shark whales. I found it great for few days relax and sea activities.

SwitzerlandWe had frogs in our bathroom (they are not aggressive but pretty weird). The manager comes across as slightly pushy and awkward (the rest of the staff is super friendly). There were holes in the mosquito net.
The whole complex is very beautiful, the umbrellas and deck chairs at the beach are perfect to spend quality time. The food was impeccable (much better than in other places on Nosy Be). It is just a short walk to Sakatia Lodge and the turtle bay as well as to the top hill of Nosy Sakatia (no guide required).

Everything about our stay was spectacular. It felt like the type of holiday big shot influencers get paid to have. Private beach, room with a view of it, chef would approach us before every meal to give us a menu of the day and take our order, welcome drinks, everything was stunning

BrazilThe place is beautiful. But they don't have security, I forgot my Ray Ban sunglasses on the beach chair at the hotel, when I remembered and went back to get it, it wasn't there anymore, and no one at the hotel saw it. Be careful not to forget anything of value, there is no security guard taking care of things. There was no hot water in my room, the shower fell off the wall several times during the shower. The toilet smelled like sewage, and the room had no ventilation. The people are nice, but the experience was terrible.

United KingdomNothing ,
The staff are amazing and work very hard to give you a great experience. Especially Sarah, she is very attentive and helps in every way she can. The dinner on the beach I did several times , which was special and the food delicious. I had the best shimp cocktail I have ever had .. The bay is beautiful and you can see turtles there and walk a path to another bay with more turtles and a village . It is perfectly quiet and safe , so I could sit under the stars alone at night . The room is big and beautiful with a sea view.

United StatesThe long-term guests there were disturbing my stay. The manager left the hotel for me to be the only visitor staying there, and the safety turns out to be a problem, as the assistant manager is a girl. The atmosphere in the hotel appears very strange.

MadagascarAmazing stay the staff are always ready to help you and have basic English. The cheff cooks what you like and converses well about the options. And a bonus is that the food tastes delicious. Amazing views everywhere you look. Just be prepared if you go on the walking tour it is amazing but not easy especially if it is raining. Take good shoes a hat and lots of water. Be prepared for some bugs but that is part of it's beauty being out in nature. The boat tour around sakatia was a highlight swiming in the coral and with turtles.
