Some of the rooms are not well-ventilated. The first night I spent there, the room felt damped and it smelled mold. I had to change room the next day. I think the problem is that the bathrooms have no ventilation. I think it should be fixed.

The staff is very kind and helpful. I love the breakfast and lunch area, such a little oasis inside the city. It's a beautiful place

Breakfast not good value and poorly presented. The pool is not for swimming. More of an ornamental pond !

Convenient location in centre of town although some 30-40 minutes from the airport. Quirky hotel with friendly staff and rooms spread across a number of buildings. Ask for a room in the new building and if you can afford it one on the top floor. Huge rooms. Other smaller rooms can be a bit dated and tight for room. Air con noisy and not very efficient in older rooms. Hotel Good value and happy to store luggage. Excellent restaurant on first floor.

Swimming pool looked to be 'natural' - i.e. brown water and no-one was using it, so we didn't think we could use it. To be honest, given the colour of the water, we didn't want to use it. The bar closed really early (about 2000 I think) which meant we had no choice but to move to the busy restaurant.

The food in the restaurant was incredible. And in huge quantities.

Bathroom was tiny/tight but adequate. There were somehow dozens of mosquitos in our room - a typical hazard in the country, esp at the start of the rainy season. Mosquito nets helped, but were not perfect.

Well-located in the city - inside is like another world, cut off from the grime and noise outside. Breakfast buffet was delicious, and eating area by the pool a beautiful oasis. Fantastic value! One of the rare places in Madagascar that offered shampoo.

Loud karaoke music in the hotel's open air restaurant all day (beneath my window), from late morning until early evening. This meant I couldn't get a midday nap, which I really needed after getting 4 flights into Madagascar. No smart TV. This is an expectation in good hotels these days. Couldn't cast Netflix or YouTube from my phone to the TV. The water leaked from shower into the wooden floor in the bedroom area, so I had to dry it myself. No shaving foam, razor, toothbrush or toothpaste. The toilet doesn't include a bidet hose to clean the bottom, just paper toilet roll. The shower frequently went from extremely hot to very cold within a matter of seconds and needs constant readjustment when taking a shower. Also, the shower head creates a sharp and strong focus of water that is uncomfortable. No international plug sockets. Can't put in a 3pin plug.

Staff are very, Very helpful. Security is excellent. Location is central and near a good collection of restaurants, bars and clubs. Bed is great. Good mosquito net gives complete protection. Nice indoor restaurant with excellent cocktail.

If you expect to swim in the pool, then maybe it's a bit of a disappointment (I think it's OK to swim in it, but it's smack in the middle of the lounge area, so it's a bit awkward), but we knew this from all the comments, so didn't mind it. In fact, the pool makes the atmosphere better.

We stayed in a family room, and it was extremely spacious with a loft floor with three additional beds. The room was clean, including the toilet and bathroom. The hotel is well designed with antique items peppered everywhere (posters, objects), and with lots of greenery in the open lounge area with a decorative? pool where we are able to hang out comfortably. All the staff were extremely nice and helpful.

The shades inside my shower were moldy. A complimentary water would have been nice. Lots of stairs might make it tricky for some people. The restaurant served me fois grois on my duck when I specifically said I didn't want it.

Beautiful decor, very unique. so many antiques and decorations to look at. Staff was helpful with directions to places. Restaurant was great with an extensive menu. Breakfast place/bakery next door very good and you could easily charge items to your room. Pool area with tables was also a nice place to relax. Shower gel, shampoo, blowdryer and fridge provided. Pretty good location. Shuttle was there to pick me up from airport (US$20).

The pool is only for decoration, it is not possible to swim in it, it is in the middle of the restaurant and there are tables around its edges. The room is tiny, just for sleeping, but we knew that.

We chose the hotel because of its good location in the city center and because of the swimming pool. The location is really excellent. Staff helpful. Beautiful interior details.
