Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaBoathouse staff are not as friendly as the hotel staff. Food at the Pennisula is not the same standard or favouring as XO or the main dining restaurant.
Friendly hotel and restaurant staff. Amazing housekeeping service. Wonderful variety of pools and lounging areas. Clean. The room like the entire hotel is stunning, spacious, well decorated and thought out. Excellent selection at breakfast. Highly recommend the rum tasting offered by the hotel. Great activities on offer - tai chi, yoga, snorkelling, glass bottom boat trip, variety of water sports. Food at XO restaurant is delicious!

United KingdomMusic - It was the worst elevator-music you've ever heard. They need to pay attention to their demographic a bit better on this front and find some nice chill music to play. Wifi coverage a bit spotty in some areas like the gym, and some hidden costs are a bit of a downer at times, i.e. room service charge and hire car collection/delivery costs you don't find out about until after you've committed to it.
This is an absolutely first-class resort. It has a very quiet location at the north of the island with a one of a kind private cove that is perfect for safe swimming, and beyond into the lagoon. Really helpful and lovely staff. Fantastic food. Drinks are okay. Tipping not required at all, but it might gain you some favours with the bar staff. The grounds are immaculate, there's loads of activities to do, which are free and there's additional paid-for options which will make this a stellar option for romantic couples. We took the Catamaran out for a couples sunset cruise and this was superb. Also enjoyed the on-beach You and Me dinner which was delightful. Wifi performed brilliantly. SPA massages were good. Overall, a truly fantastic place to spend a couple of weeks.

United KingdomBetter advertising of the various facilities within the resort so we knew the different options - I'd seen they did Water Aerobics so I showed up and I was the only person (it was still great fun!).
A truly special place, Paradise Cove isn't paradise because it's the most perfect or the most luxurious of resorts - instead, what makes it paradise are a combination of the beautiful surroundings, the amazing staff and the incredible food. When you put it all together you get a place which is both gorgeous and 'real'; which allows you to truly relax and holiday in a way you want to. There are plenty of places to sit - two pools, the beach and plenty of cabanas facing the sea and cove. Our favourites were the cabanas on the far side of the peninsula with an uninterrupted view of the bluest sea. Being in Michael's area for service was always amazing - he's a true gem. The resort never seems too busy and you can always get a spot where you need it (in the shade, in my case!). The Cove itself was not as sparkly and blue as the sea despite the team's attempts to clean it daily, so we preferred to swim the other side of the peninsula, but this did not detract from our experience at all. The food was exceptional. We also ate at The Cove and XO, as well as the buffets and Peninsula. I've never seen anything like the Christmas Day buffet - Kevin, the pastry chef, had been cooking for 2 full days apparently and it showed. He's the one responsible for the fully edible chocolate Christmas trees in our rooms which the previous reviewer talked about. Incredible attention to detail. We particularly enjoyed Peninsula for lunch. I had two massages and a scrub at the spa which were gorgeous. The staff there were beyond lovely and it was a real haven. The gym is also very well equipped with two treadmills, two spin bikes, a rower, cross trainer and full sets of weights and weight machines. We used it quite a few times. There is a pool table, dart board and board games, as well as a well-stocked book shelf. We had a lot of fun in the evenings after dinner.

FranceThe beach in the Cove got green and quite smelly with loads of plastic waste in it towards the end of the week because of stagnating water - wasn't the best to swim, especially the smell. Perhaps weather related. The All Inclusive pricing is too expensive for people who don't drink alcohol. We had lunches and coffees all week on half board and never matched the all inclusive pricing, we were well below that. Hard to justify the cost of all inclusive.
We had an amazing week! Staff was so kind, polite and friendly. Food was delicious, the hotel is big enough so we're not on top of each other with other customers. Food was incredible, everything was freshly cooked and catered for all tastes such as vegan, veggie, meat, fish etc. The hotel infrastructure is also beautiful.

United KingdomThe setting of the hotel is absolutely beautiful with the eternity pool looking over the ocean to a little island in the distance. There are so many private cabanas to relax and the staff were the most friendliest I’ve ever met.

Probably the best food at a resort we've ever experienced - the sushi restaurant XO is incredible as well as the other restaurants. The staff were so friendly and the place truly does feel like you're living in a little slice of paradise. We spent the second half of our honeymoon here and we wouldn't change a thing. We also got a free room upgrade which was amazing.

United KingdomIt’s a shame that there was no option to switch to a lunch meal instead of dinner when on HB. it actually would have cost the hotel less, I think, but there was no flexibility, where all other hotels I’ve stayed in usually offered this. The room had a few issues and whilst they were sorted, I wouldn’t expect to arrive at a 5 star hotel and have these issues ie. light not working, marked scatter cushions, sink that wouldn’t drain. the bar and Paradise restaurant lacked attentive service at lunch times and the evening meal at the Paradise, whilst presented well, my main dish was very bland. it feels like the hotel needs an over- seeing role to check for the things that a guest would see or experience ie service waiting time for lunch at both bar and the Paradise restaurant, the final touches in the hotel room on arrival so there’s no issues (I don’t think the cleaners can do everything and aren’t paid enough to be totally responsible)
romantic, lots of sunbeds situated around the property, so it never felt crowded. Options for where to eat on HB or AI was good. tea (ice) and biscuits each day was a lovely touch. our room was decorated one evening with petals and a towel used to create swans, which was just beautiful. Breakfast was also good. Restaurant with buffet food was very good. XO restaurant also good for a different option. Some of the team were great and very helpful. others seemed less engaged. overall we enjoyed our stay here and with some improvements, it would be super.

DenmarkFood was decent (breakfast buffet the best of the choices), but dont bother with the "Peninsula Restuanant", but not near the standards of other places around the globe. This is probably partly to blame on the island itself and the lack of certain produce etc. Do not expect a fine dining experience. Parts of the hotel staff was nice, but we also encountered staff (i.e. at the reception) who could barely help us book a table at one of the three restaurants and who said things that were plain wrong. Really disappointing for a hotel of this caliber. Note, that if you are only there for a few days, you will have a hard time finding availability at one of the three special restuarants and the spa. Also, most of the activities has to be booked 48 hours in advance, meaning this is difficult if you only have a few days here. Also tried to communicate with the hotel in advance, but the response time was awfull (between 3-4 days). Hence, make sure to initiate any conversations with the hotel WELL in advance. Food, wine, drinks etc. are twice or trice as expensive compared to the rest of the island (however the food is also of a slightly higher quality, albiet far from EU/NA standards).
Very nice facilities and surroundings. Rooms are really premium quality. Excellent departure lounge with a private cabin which includes shower etc. meaning you can stay at the hotel until your flight leaves (small additional fee for this service though, which the hotel forgets to mention in advance).

It was our honeymoon and we opted in for an all inclusive option - typically those don't offer the best quality food but Paradise Cove went above and beyond. Beautiful place perfect for a romantic getaway :) Staff is very friendly! Good activities throughout the day
