Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

HungaryThe food selection was a bit repetitive, and the room had a window only in the front so the air was a bit damp sometimes. There could be more electric outlets in the room and in the bathroom.
Our stay at Veranda Palmar was wonderful. It has a superb beach, the staff is very friendly and helpful. A lot of watersports activities were included in the all inclusive price which was a pleasant surprise for me. The garden looked fantstic and is very well taken care of. The hotel is not a very big resort, so it was very pleasant for us that it was never crowded. it is apparent that they take responsibility for social and environmental issues, I liked their foodwise initiative and how they didn’t seem to overuse any food or other materials. Exceptional value for an all inclusive stay.

HungaryParty every night around the pool area.
Hospitality of the staff. The hotel was very cozy, nicely maintained, like a drop of paradise. You can have a great view of the ocean which was nice, fewer small rosks than in the sorounding area. Beach area was fantastic, enjoying the day with a cocktail in your hand.

United KingdomSmoking is permitted (and encouraged by ashtrays on every tabletop but for the canteen) virtually anywhere in the property. A limited fresh fruit and vegetables for all meals (inferior to what you can get in a supermarket in the middle of winter in Europe) and lack of fresh fruit juices; the location next to Lux water sports centre on the beach undermines the resort's sunbed section and view, swimming and snorkelling outside the roped off area about the size of a swimming pool dangerous, constant motorised activities in front of the resort. Far from ideal for a beach holiday, unless you like being by an inland pool looking at the buildings.
Overall we had an enjoyable stay, Veranda Palmar our first stop on the island, a blend of modern interior design and tropical materials creates a pleasant environment (with the exception of the dining room and pool bar which are more like an ordinary motel). Daily snorkelling trips to the reef; hobi cat, paddle boards and other non-motorised water equipment included. A Stretch class on the beach organised upon our request by Clive; Dennis and Clive are great entertainers and charming characters making sure that guests are not bored evening after evening. We are grateful to the chef and kitchen staff for some off the menu dishes to match our food preferences - we had simply cooked fresh fish fillets daily.

HungaryWe loved everything. The room was quiet, always well cleaned, with a beautiful view. The food was very good, local and international items as well and in yhorizon beach restaurant of the hotel our seafood menu and the service, staff was beyond expectation. The beach is beautiful, the organized catamaran cruise was fantastic, all staff members were superb. We do recommend hiring a car as the location is a little remote, but nevertheless we would choose it again because it is excellent for a relaxation after a busy day of touring the island.

South AfricaEmployees need better training. The food was really disappointing and we found it to be tasteless but then yet again it’s 3 star hotel so don’t expect 5 star dining. We only found out days later about the kiddies menu - but it was also bad and our child didn't enjoy it. The drinks were bad - the quality very cheap and just bad. On that note, you can only order drinks from 11am, so you don't really have any other options available besides the horrible and badly stocked minibar in your room (they only give you 1x soft drink daily even though we were 2 in the room). The interior of the room looks cheap and basic. The bathroom needs an upgrade.
The beach is amazing! We also loved the garden and the staff tried their best to make our stay pleasant. It’s a clean but basic hotel. Remember it’s a 3 star hotel so don’t expect 5 star quality. Overall it’s a nice hotel if you’re on a budget and just want the basics. If you want something nice go next door!

United KingdomFood was very very average! Probably the worst we have had on our stays in several other hotels in Mauritius. Hot food was only luke warm & fruits, salads etc not kept cold. Dishes were often left empty, not replenished quickly enough. Not a lot of choice. Very bony chicken, quite tough meat. All inc drinks were very limited. Only 3 wines -red white or rose-all were poor quality . Beer was ok & if you like rum you were luckier.
On a beautiful sandy beach but not enough sun beds.

PolandIn general, the meals were very modest for an all-inclusive hotel. This does not mean that you will leave the restaurant hungry, but your expectations are much higher for this price. You also get the impression that the bartenders at the drinks bar are specially trained to discourage customers from ordering. They do a lot to avoid customers who want to make an order. The hotel is very eco-friendly, even to the point of exaggeration. Bartenders are so eco-friendly that they don't even always wash glasses when serving drinks. Conduct training for bartenders or replace them. This has a very negative impact on the image of the hotel (especially in the all inclusive option). When it comes to meals, make sure that you never lack vegetables, such as basic ones such as tomatoes, cucumbers, etc.
Hotel in quite good condition, with a nice swimming pool and a beautiful beach. The service at the reception desk deserves the highest rating.

South AfricaThe food sadly was nothing to write home about. The best food was local recipes like octopus curry and Dhol Puri but everything was drastically under seasoned. The pool is by the main restaurant but no view of the sea so we didn’t make use of it. Unfortunately, no one told us upon booking or arrival that the hotel next door was undergoing renovations after it was hit by a fire so we had to endure jack hammers and drills for the duration of our stay.
The beach is wonderful, the room was nice and staff friendly.
