Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWell, the only thing is the first night from the airport was sweltering and my small room had no ventilation. On the positive side, when I asked the next day a ventilator was made available. That made a huge difference!
I liked the central location. There was coffee available on one floor, though no one really made me aware of that. Interesting nooks and crannies all around this large building.

FranceIt can be noisy sometimes due to the proximity with city center road.
Well located, clean and comfortable room, lots of common space including outdoors and kitchen. Very good quality for the price paid.

United StatesBathrooms could be cleaner, but still cleaned everyday and fine. WIFI had slightly spotty moments but otherwise was high speed.
Excellent and safe location as a female traveler - VERY close only 5 min walk to the Zocalo plaza. I enjoyed that it was a hostal but I got to enjoy a private room. The room is sparse, but exactly what I needed. I stayed there for 6 days and was quite comfortable. You have to share a bathroom with your floor, but that's fine. Could be a little cleaner but honestly no complaints. The WIFI is generally good, althoguh I did have a couple times where it was spotty, but it always came back and was high speed. I worked there remotely the entire week! The hostal is a GREAT place for coworking because they have many coworking tables and areas. I really enjoyed working in the roofotp with a BEAUTIFUL view of the city. I would definitely stay here again! Safe, comfortable, great location, and the employees are really nice and will help you if needed. I ran out of cash on my last day in Oaxaca and they called me a taxi that accepted credit card.

CanadaThe room was sparse and with no ceiling fan. Our room was facing the street below which was very noisy until 2 am and the exhaust/pollution from below was noticeable.
The hostel staff was always helpful and attentive and the room and shared bathrooms were clean. The best part about the place is the spaciousness - balconies, common areas, or the terrace. There was even a small gym setup with weights and a punching bag.

CanadaMy bed was not comfortable, and neither was the chair in the room but I get it, this is a thrifty stay value proposition so you have to taper your expectation accordingly. I would stay here again if I wanted a clean facility with a good location but if rest and comfort is the priority I would look for another place.
The value of this hostel was really good. It is very clean, very large (it feels like it was a school in the past) and well staffed. The balconies, halls, bathrooms, which are aplenty, were all very clean and maintained that way. The staff were all very lovely and kind. I stayed here for 9 days and was able to access everything I had wanted to on my trip to Oaxaca. The location made this very easy. The amenities were great for this price point, I did enjoy the coffee when there was some left and managed to get a few workouts in on the balconies with the dumbbells' on the third floor.

CanadaThe kitchen has restricted time to use the stove. Not convenient. Not enough cutlery in kitchen.
We arrived in hostel 6am, and staff let us in to use common areas. 8am, check in, and give us a room . The lady at the front desk told us where to take bus to ADO bus station and some other town. The place is very clean. Later, let us use the common area after check out till evening.

CanadaThe supply of hot water was sporadic. Complaints about this were met with stoney indifference. Kitchen equipment was worn out to the point of being downright dangerous: handles coming off pots and pans while in use; not a soup or teaspoon to be found. Kitchen is locked down (literally) 10:00 to noon and 16:00 to 18:00 for no apparent reason.
Very bright and clean; lots of space and natural light in common areas. Cheerful decor and attractive cactus gardens.

AustraliaI was solo travelling and it was not an extremely social hotel. I was surprised not more people were using the amazing roof! Everything else was perfect.
The location is perfect. It is the biggest building in the area and there is a beautiful terrace. The dorm rooms are spacious but not overcrowded, and the beds are comfortable. They have coffee and water. The hot taps work well in the shower. I think this would be a perfect hostel for a travel group.

PolandOur room was accesible vía patio, where you go to the toilets and showers also through an open space. I can't imagine how that functions when it's cold or it rains. In November it was already quite cold in the evening to run through the patio to take the shower. Additionally, there is no elevator, so a bit of a hustle if you stay on the last floor.
Big and spacious shared spaces, good location (walking distance to the centre). Relatively clean.

United StatesIt can be a little noisy at night. I wish the rooms had more hooks, tables or shelves for your luggage.
I have stayed at Andaina on various trips. The location is great for the markets and the Zocolo., also for catching transport to outlaying villages. The solo rooms are small but sufficient. Bathrooms are plentiful and clean.

United KingdomLock on our room wasn't working properly so ended up locked out with staff trying to break in through the window! Got moved to another room which was overlooking the main road and VERY noisey from 6am till midnight. Don't stay in these rooms. Ants everywhere in our room. Cleaning staff very friendly and accommodating but not so the reception staff. So big that there is no vibe, soulless. Basic kitchen utensils, not enough cutlery etc. No microwave. Not always hot water for the showers 50/50 No alcohol rule on the premises. Unusual for a hostel.
Location is excellent. Complimentary coffee and biscuits on our floor, cleanliness of bathrooms. Very spacious common areas. Sunny roof top terrace.
