Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The garden and pools of this hotel are amazing. The entire complex is like a Mayan town in the jungle. The garden is huge. Pictures don’t do it justice. The pools (multiple) are cooled and so relaxing. We saw many rare birds, howler monkeys and a crocodile from the garden and pool. Room was very large and clean. Restaurantje was amazing. It can look kind of tacky based on the pictures, but in reality this hotel is very beautiful. I’m glad we spent two nights here, we decided to spend an entire afternoon at the pool here because it was so nice.

IndiaThe hotel is really well kept and the staff & maintenance is amazing! Our dietary restrictions were well taken care of & the food itself was really tasty, which was hard to get as vegetarians in the region. The rooms also were really spacious and amazing, and made you want to spend time in them. However, would have to say that the hotel is on the more expensive side in general.

United KingdomNothing, it was really a perfect stay for us
Highly recommend booking this incredible hotel with only 8 rooms while in Palenque. The staff is lovely, the rooms are big and very comfortable. The big plus is the pool area, built in the jungle and so peaceful. We saw a beautiful parrot while swimming and some monkeys in the trees in the evening.

United KingdomLovely small hotel set in gorgeous gardens with a lake and swimming pools. We had two lovely large rooms across from the main building. Our rooms had lovely facilities and furnishings. We stayed for 2 nights and ate at the hotel each night which had a good menu choice. We had the continental breakfast which was enough for us but wider options also available. The hotel recommended Mildred Lucas for tour and jungle walk of the Palenque Archeological Zone. Mildred was amazing and we had the best guide and walk and I would highly recommend this for your visit to Palenque. We saw and heard howler monkeys whilst there so an extra special part of our visit too. We had a hire car and safe parking in the grounds of the hotel and we explored Palenque town a little too and lovely restaurants in the town available too. I would recommend this hotel and the small size provides a lovely feel and environment. We found all the staff here very friendly, helpful and professional. We would love to return.

MexicoThe setting is so lovely. The short walk through lush jungle foliage to the pool really makes you feel like you are completely isolated, but you are not. The rooms were super comfortable, and included all of the necessary amenities, and so much more. Pamper yourself. You won't regret it!

The room decoration, to us, is very nice, spacious and special. Perhaps someone may not like the antique styled decoration. The staff is very friendly, polite and helpful. The food in the restaurant is good, much better than the food outside in the same area. The swimming pools are beautiful. Our favourite is the pond/lake where we sat there after a whole day excursion with a glass of wine. We stayed there in January but we were surprised that there wasn't many mosquitoes. We sat by the pond for 2 hours around sunset time without any insect repellant but had no mosquito bite.

SwitzerlandThere's nothing we can say against this place. It's rather unusual to have this high standard services in Mexico. It's not really cheap, but it's definitely a great value for your money.
Located right in the middle of the forest, half way between downtown and the archeological site of Palenque, this hotel is amazing. Not only it's clean and very comfortable, rooms are wide and nicely decorated. Staff is kind and very attentive and they can help you to fix your excursions. It's not very big, only 8 rooms distributed in a few huts. A great point is its swimming pool, from where you can hear the monkeys while relaxing and even take a steam temascal bath. The restaurant serves delicious and proper meals. Breakfast is included in the price and it's one of the best we've ever had in a hotel. We were so lucky to be the only guests in our 3-day stay and we were treated like kings. We highly recommend it to every traveler as it will make their visit to Palenque an unforgettable one.

BelgiumBreakfast and dinner were acceptable, but not great (e.g. orange juice not available at breakfast). Probably due to low season (we were the only guests). We asked for a room with twin beds for the family, but that could not be arranged (even though the hotel was almost entirely unoccupied). Some of the equipment starts to feel dated, e.g. the coffee maker in the room didn't work and the airco in one of the rooms was very noisy (in the other room it was newer and worked fine).
This is the place to be in Palenque, with large and beautifully decorated rooms. The original founder of the hotel designed the place as a Maya village, successfully decorating it with nice copies of Maya art. There is a large garden and lake with great jungle feel (and visited by animals like howler monkeys and exotic birds, including an ara). The swimming pool area is very inviting for some time off after visits.

DenmarkThe location is amazing, and the hotel so! Great rooms, great restaurant and great pool surrounded by forest. We saw monkeys, a parrot, bats and more during our stay at the hotel. The staff is so kind and helpfull. The maya ruins and the jungle is close by, you can just take the collectivo-bus a few hundred meters from the hotel to go there. We would really recommend this hotel!

United StatesCharming boutique hotel in a rain forest-type setting outside of town. Really enjoyed the tropical feel along with the birds and monkey sounds around us. Rooms and facilities were very clean and well kept. The food and drinks at the hotel were delicious. here is only a few rooms in the hotel so we felt like we had the place to ourselves. It costs a little more than you would pay in town but my wife and I thought it was a good value. Having an on-sit masseuse was a huge plus after a long day of tromping around the ruins!

United KingdomHowever it feels a little run-down. It was also a shame that the jungle setting couldn’t be seen from the room or from the dining area.
Great location for the Palenque ruins and communication for organising tours was excellent. The design of the hotel is in-keeping with the Mayan culture that you’re here to see.

United StatesThe only thing we didn’t like was the very noisy racket made by the howling monkeys @ 4 in the morning which lasted almost an hour. I used earplugs in both ears & I could still hear them. I realize that’s something the hotel can do nothing about & it only happened on one of the 3 nights we stayed. We would only like to recommend d putting a towel bar inside the enormous shower. That would be convenient for hanging wet swesuots or just your bath towel.
The room was huge and well-appointed with a mini bar stocked with not only complimentary water but also with complimentary beer & soft drinks. The bathroom was also huge & the shower had 2 shower heads, a regular one & a rain shower one overhead. The a/c worked fine as well as the 2 ceiling fans. The outdoor porch sitting area was very nice, too. The staff were all very helpful, cheerful & nice. Lastly, the food was truly excellent!!
