Beautiful hotel, completely central, great breakfast and customer service. Just that the internet was a bit slow if you plan to work from there, but there are coworking spaces nearby.

Communication problems at reception, in 2nd floor rooms zero wifi. On 2nd day reception gave me room on the ground floor - wi-fi was good.

The undersheet in the bed was plastic and while I understand why this is, it made it harder to sleep and if you rolled over at night there was a lot of noise. But a minor issue that pails in comparison to how great everything else was. Oh, and no hot water.

Our room had a light but constant smell of mould. The breakfast was quite basic and the same each day with small variation (scrambled eggs).

The smell of the room. The pool doesn’t look very clean and 2 of the 4 sunbeds were broken. We just stayed one night so it was OK.

The location is perfect and the old colonial style building is really nice. The room smell moldy but they are clean. Breakfast was included and good.

Fantastic location just by the Grand Plaza, beautiful hacienda style and center courtyard, drinking water available to refill reusable bottles, A/C in our room was very cold. Beds were comfy.

Pool side sunbeds were not great. There was only 4 and 1 was cracked in the center and they were all mixed. Would be nice to have a bar.

Location and staff were brilliant. The bedding and towels were changed every day. Fresh bottles of water in the room everyday. Staff were always friendly.

In one room AC didn't work. They claimed we didn't "use" it right. On the 3rd day finally they repaired it (we moved to another room. Check the bed size of queen bed rooms. They are not us size.

Hotel Caribe is a refuge in a very touristy area in Merida. We loved sitting in the courtyard and the views from the pool of the Cathedrals and bell towers at night were stunning. Good breakfasts in the courtyard. Restaurants and plazas within a block. Would definitely go again.

We didn't have hot water for 4 of the 5 nights. Hotel did not even offer a small refund. Room was a little small and the mosquitoes where terrible. Not enough seating at the pool and several broken chairs.

Rooms are small, and dark (light is from the inner courtyard). Water pressure was uneven.

Classic courtyard traditional hotel surrounded by a small square in the Centro Historico. Close to everything - from the grand Paaseo Montejo, restaurants, the bus station, shopping. Calm, quiet with nice pool. The square has a nice restaurant, tables for a drink at the edge of the bustle, good ice cream shop and a Starbucks for morning coffee.
