slow internet, dorm next to the street a bit lod by passing trucks, the other was good, bedsheets were to loose so u have to tighten it new after each night again!

place is supergood, next to the mercado and center, terrace is very nice, good kitchen, nice chill area, friendly owner, place u can stay longer!

24 hours hot shower is not available, sometimes it's just warm.(not cold)

perfect location, close to oxxo store, Walmart, local market, chamula bus station. staff are always nice to help, if you take a night bus arrive in the morning, they let you check in to have a rest. bed is so comfortable that you could have a good sleep.

There is a problem with the internet. Download speed is fine but I couldn’t upload any videos. I suspect it’s an easy fix, probably a problem with the modem but it was like that the entirety of my stay. The showers aren’t great either - poor water pressure.

Staff were great. Super friendly and helpful with good local knowledge. The bedrooms were very nice with curtains for privacy. The location was excellent. Close to the fruit, veg, and meat markets and a Bodiga and close to the town centre. Kitchen and eating area was good. Cabin area very chill.

I’ve heard about it in Oaxaca, but didn’t have the chance to stay there (fully booked). The price, close to the center and the nice vibe that should have been in the hostal, made me choose for Iguana SCdlC. Indeed, it’s not perfect, but I feel that’s the power of iguana. It contributes to the atmosphere and vibe in the hostel. In some way it opens up the travelers and staff. All combined it’s creates a relaxed and chill atmosphere. Nice beds, good kitchen, great common areas.

The lockers are tiny (some of the smallest I encountered during the course of a VERY long trip throughout Latin America), so don't think about trying to fit a full bag into them. Just enough space for a laptop, camera, and fireproof wallet.

Iguana is in a really nice location. The rooms are cozy and the temperature is perfect. The staff was very helpful when it came to pointing me in the direction of transportation and it's also right near the market where you can get multi serve mole dishes for just 50 pesos. And lots of other great street food.

Pretty quiet when I was there, not many people around

Chilled vibe and good facilities including filtered water. My private room was incredible value for a spacious room with two beds, plenty of plug sockets and comfy mattresses. The room also regulated temperature very well without any AC - it was naturally cool during the day when it was hot outside, and nice and warm at night when it was cold outside.

Very relaxed vibe. Lots of space to chill. I was able to rest very well. Hot shower with good water pressure. Wifi worked well. I stayed in 3 different hostels in San Cristobal but this place was the best.

The only negatives are firstly that the rooms get insanely cold at night (this is coming from a Canadian used to temperatures well below 0 degrees) but they will provide you extra blankets on request, no problem. Second issue is just the lack of guests! The volunteers here are super chatty and sociable, but it would be nice to have a few different faces coming through the hostel. They deserve more guests here….

As soon as you enter the hostel you’re welcomed by the awesome group of volunteers here. Igauna Hostel is a lowkey, chill and quiet option located in a great part of town, close to everything. There is also plenty of great outdoor common space to unwind and relax. If you will be in San Cristobal for a longer period of time, they can also work with you in arranging a better price for extended stays of 2 weeks or more!

the cleaning in the big bathroom was sometimes a bit off. and sometimes there was barely any warmwater left in the shower.

i loved the vibe!! the staff is amazing and so is the people staying there. made so many new friends. its not a partyhostel and its usually quiet around 10, but its also easy to find friends to go out and party with if you want to!

Our door didn't close all the way so we slept with an open door, essentially. it was also strange that someone called to inquire about available beds and they said there weren't any available... but we literally slept in a room with 8 open beds.

Cute tiny hostel, nice and chill. LOVED reading in the common space. The staff was also chill but we kind of had to micro manage or help ourselves.
