The humming noises from the refrigerator in the room was annoying at night.

The area around the hotel has some things but isn't near the main town, so we found it easier to drive to town (which was totally fine), so if you're planning on walking to town, this isn't the place for you. The beach the hotel is on is dangerous to swim at, so we went elsewhere for beach days, so plan on that if you want to swim

The staff was very friendly and we loved that they let us borrow beach towels, an umbrella, and cooler. It made it so much easier to do day trips to nearby beaches. The common space at the hotel is welcoming and great to relax in, we ate breakfast (that we brought, hotel doesn't do breakfast) there a few times and it was wonderful. There's a grocery store and some other shops nearby that were easy to walk to as well.

There is nothing we didn’t like

The hotel exceeded expectations. It has such a unique look and the location was excellent. 5min to the beach and tons of great little restaurants and coffee shops. I met the owner in person and she takes great pride in ensuring that everything is to your liking. Their patio is excellent. And the inside courtyard is so relaxing. I would definitely stay here again.

Very quiet and unique. If you don’t like the big resort vibes, and you are looking for a small boutique hotel, this is the perfect solution for you. Close to the beach and restaurants. Few minutes driving to the old town.

There was plenty of space in our room for a coffeemaker and I think a 'boutique hotel' should plan to provide some way to make coffee for the guests. There is a coffee shop next door but it doesn't open til 7:30 and we left around 6:45 for a day trip so no coffee. I also think ice would be a good thing to have for guests since there is a refrigerator and glasses in the room. I had to walk to the supermarket and buy a giant bag of ice to make cocktails. and the final thing that was kind of a bummer is they are building a mega-hotel right in front of the ocean that pretty much wipes out the 'ocean view' - obviously not the owners fault! But disappointing.

Nothing negative

Charming place, with an unusual, large sunken courtyard for shaded relaxing. Also quiet at night, a big plus. We originally booked at a hotel in el Centro called El Encanto. I usually am very good about checking out reviews, but didn’t do enough homework until after I booked, and learned that there was likely to be very loud music til the early hours next door. 😕 So I cancelled and chose Marisol and so glad I did!

Not a big deal, but a couple more towels in the room (we never asked for more) and a couple of bottles of water at the usual inflated price would have been convenient. These suggestions by no means takes away from our enjoyment of the hotel or our recommendation.

We had a King Suite. Very comfortable and extremely clean. Quiet and a good location to the beach, good restaurants and activities. Easy access to the square on Thursday evening by Uber. Walking distance to the beach.

The only thing was that the walls are a bit thin and the sound carries from the hallway and the next rooms. This isn’t a big problem since there were no parties or loud events.

It is an adorable property, easy to walk to anywhere you might want to go. 2 min walk to beach.
