Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe wifi could be better, especially in the back areas of the property. Perhaps a signal booster in the back for the rooms far away from the desk. I have stayed here many times and the price has increased a huge amount in the past couple of years. I expect it to go up a bit, but this time was over 3x what I paid the previous times.
Lovely spot. I have stayed here many times.

United StatesIt was rather simple for the amount of money paid. The Booking.com site said there was airport transportation. There was not. And it said the hotel could arrange tours, which it hasn’t done for over a year.
The property was very well located near the Zacola. It was charming, although a little “rustic”. The staff were amazing! SO thoughtful and kind - especially Raul. There are many stairs/steps, even in the rooms themselves. My room had a high step into the bathroom. I loved the Coffee shop/cafe attached to the hotel!

United StatesThe staff that works at the Posada del Centro is exceptional. They are kind, friendly, helpful, and very caring. I broke my femur in Oaxaca, and all of the staff helped in every way to make my stay comfortable. They went way beyond their job titles to take care of me. We also loved the coffee cafe next to the hotel. It has great food and delicious coffee.

PortugalIt was during the Dias de Muertos, so prices were very elevated, but for the cost this tiny room with no fan, no air-con, and no extra pillows was bit of a letdown. The room was called "Deluxe Double" but not sure where there deluxe comes in. It was tiny - only room for one bedside table - and the noise of people speaking in the courtyard echoed in every morning. The sheets are old and not white, and the towels have seen better days too.
We booked this stay last-minute after another stay was accidentally cancelled and I can't we weren't a little bit disappointed when comparing the two (we stayed 1 night at the other spot). The hotel courtyard and terraces were lovely, and the location is very central and very safe walking home at any hour. The rooms are a bit sad and aged.

AustraliaSuperb location and really cute place to stay. Rooms were good and generous in size. We only booked to 2 nights but extended for a further three. The hotel also has a lovely terrace that has views over Oaxaca that was a nice place to chill out.

NorwayThe fan was nice, but would have been great to have AC. Some natural light would have been good! I was in a first floor unit so people were walking by which meant I couldn’t have my window shade open. I also had a light sensor near my room and no shade on part of the door window, so the light would go off at night and come through that window.
I liked the rooftop balcony and the fact that someone was always at the front desk— it made me feel very safe while traveling alone. The location was great and the little kittens that lived there were an added bonus!

United StatesThe water pressure in the shower was very weak. We were also next to the public patio, so in the evening there was some noise from other guests. Never very bad but a bit annoying. And finally somehow Booking.com offered us a rate with breakfast included but it wasn't worth it/the hotel couldn't quite comply so don't bother with that.
We had a room with A/C, which made our stay much better. It's a few blocks from the Zócalo, so very walkable to everything, but it was very quiet in the room. It was generally a cute place with fine service.

United KingdomBecause the rooms are off the central patio, and despite the notices up asking for quiet after 21.30, some other residents were occasionally noisy. Maybe Reception needs to do more to remind them not to disturb others.
The hotel is walking distance from the museums, the markets, the city centre. The cafe right next door sells coffee and drinks and food - great for breakfast or an evening cocktail. The hotel is an old colonial-style building around two gorgeously colourful patios, one shady with tables. The roof terrace is lovely, with plenty of seating and great views of the city and the mountains. There’s even a hummingbird. The rooms are spotless and secure, the staff couldn’t be pleasanter or more helpful, Reception is manned 24/7, there’s clean drinking water available in the patios.

United StatesThe group tour they recommend for Monte Alban was disappointing. I would urge visitors who want to get to Monte Alban to find a different service, or just take a cab up there and spend much of the day with your own guide. Also, the room, and I suspect all the rooms, are very noisy. The street out front is just roaring with traffic. the hotel leaves the large front doors of the courtyard open, and the noise just overwhelms the space.
Great central location. Attractive building and outdoor spaces. Great front desk.

Perfect location; close enough to the main square, but far enough away to be quiet at night. Great and helpful staff; lovely room and courtyard. Only drawback was the room acoustics made it seem like everyone could you as the ceiling was over 10' high.
