We had a balcony room facing the square, there is a grocery store beside the the hotel, very noisy. Also parking is difficult

There was a very noisy group in the courtyard that were loud until we asked them to be quiet at 11:00 pm. The room was definitely not soundproof!

It's a great little hotel with good ambiance and atmosphere. Really interesting decor in the common areas. The room was simple but comfortable. The staff were cheerful and efficient.

The only thing that they have to approve is the communication with the kicthcen. The offer includes the basic breakfast french toast and coffee/tea. But when we arrived late (around 7pm) and we told on the reception we will order a basic breakfast in the morning they told us we should inform the kitchen earlier..but that was not possible because our check out was late. In the morning ladies in the kitchen werent really happy, but in the end we got the promised basic breakfast.

Everything was perfect, the location, the rooms, cleanless, communication before the arrival..I always like to come back to this place

The hotel is really beautiful. The common areas are full of art, there is a bubbling Koi pond in the middle, and a lovely garden to sit and eat. The room was comfortable, good sized and the AC worked great.

I didn’t find the staff very friendly. The WiFi was hit and miss. The breakfast that was included was two pieces of white bread and a half a cup of hot water (I ordered the tea). I couldn’t use the balcony because of all the pigeons and their excrement above me. Not sure what they can do about that, but something to look into.

Definitely “Old Mexico” in its feel and decoration—truly a step back in time. I had a balcony room that looked out over the plaza. The room was comfortable and really big and very quiet, but Izamal is also a very quiet town. Excellent location.

Breakfast very basic

This is a very quirky old hotel in a charming town. Right on main square. Lovely courtyard, eclectic art collection and fantastic craft shop. Front rooms in older part not mosquito proof but you get beams and a balcony to absorb the atmosphere. Felt a bit like we’d stepped into Room with a View Mexican style.

We booked at a last minute and on a suggestion of someone we met at our last hotel. We were extremely impressed with the location and staff plus they had parking for us at a close gas station. Breakfast was toast and coffee. Perfect in a wonderful courtyard backed by ancient stone wall of a pyramid

All 4 rooms with a balcony face the street. The noise from loud vehicles, loud music, etc., are so loud as to be unbearable until about 11 pm. We do want to visit Izamal again and stay at this hotel, but definitely not in a balcony room.

The setting, architecture and decor of this hotel is wonderful. The water feature with Koi and the patio, with the remaining portion of a pyramid are exquisite.

The free breakfast too simple.

Centrally located, nice staff who allowed us to store luggage. Nice clean room and good shower. Next to the market where there are many breakfast choices of local food.
