We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

Breakfast was not included in our package so I cannot comment on the breakfast but we did avail of tea and toast in the cafe attached to Betel Nut Lodge on the morning we arrived. The accommodation is in a lovely quiet street in the heart of historical Georgetown. The staff are extremely helpful recommending good restaurants and giving information re public transportation. Our room was very comfortable. Beds were solid and very comfy and there were 2 forms of air conditioning in the room - a ceiling fan and an air conditioning unit. Accommodation is located in a recently refurbished Chinese house and is furnished accordingly with very interesting and old furnishings. A very pleasant and relaxing stay all round 😀

I have stayed at this small hotel many times before whenever I visit Penang. They were closed for refurbishment for a while so I was pleased to find that they have re-opened on my current trip to Penang. Everything I like about this small hotel is still there- quiet and clean rooms, friendly crew and a fantastic location in the middle of George Town, close to street art, food. The room is not big but it is comfy and as a traveler it's has everything and adequate. I was a bit worried after reading review about WiFi.But, I neednt have worried as the rooms have TV with streaming movies( free !) and Wi Fi is very fast, one of the best! Highly recommended!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Betel Nut Lodge. The owner went above and beyond, providing a personalized map and invaluable tips for savoring unique local cuisine—an experience often missed in conventional hotels. Nestled amidst the vibrant UNESCO tourist hub, the lodge offers a peaceful escape. Our room, though compact, was impeccably clean, featuring a tidy bathroom, free access to Netflix . A delightful touch was the welcome tea accompanied by delectable local pastry. The comfortable four-poster bed, adorned with a screen curtain, added to the charm of the vintage setting throughout the lodge. The location is a significant advantage, granting easy access to key tourist attractions within walking distance.

Beautiful building in the heart of George Town. The room is small but clean and comfortable. Warm interiors. The staff were friendly and polite. They gave us a map with suggestion where we should eat. Every time we came back in the afternoon they gave us tea and some snacks. The check-out time is 12:00 p.m. but they let us leave our luggage in the building on our last day and we could pick them up late in the afternoon on our way to the airport. Highly recommend.

Some of the staff, whilst being friendly and very kind, do not speak English/Malay/Chinese which can make it difficult to communicate. Having said that, this wasn't a big issue and any queries we had ended up being able to be answered despite this.
Very clean, friendly service, good advice about places around George Town to visit. Comfy bed, good aircon and thoughtful special touches like tea and snacks every day. Would definitely stay here again.
