Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandThe cook was great but the breakfast service requires a little improvement.
The hotel is located on a private island, where you feel the jungle and can enjoy the proximity to nature. The island is full of the wild species that you can hardly see anywhere else.

SwedenThe beach was full with plastic rubbish! It was so sad to see. There are a lot the resort can do to make sure the beach is clean. For example put garbage bins on the beach and really make an effort to have it cleaned every day when it is needed. For the breakfast you can only select ONE hot dish and if you want an additional one it will be charged. We found it a bit strange as the resort is very pricy and you already pay a lot! There could be more flexibility. Same with the Canopy walk, it could be included. Inform about the sun flies - it was a terrible pain. Use the insect repellant! We had booked a two-room villa but it was not any information that there was like two rooms without a connected door inside. We travelled with kids and it was not optimal to put them in one an lock the door. You had to lock ass monkeys would otherwise pay a visit to the room. The room it self was great.
The place is just amazing. It is like a dream. We spent 3 nights and it was just perfect. It is in the jungle and lots of wild animals around. The SPA was the best I ever been to. Food was really good and the staff very friendly.

Our stay was during a quiet few days, staff all very friendly and do what ever they can to make you feel they are only there for you. Lots of monkeys that were no trouble. Monitor lizards wondering around that are also happy to be watched.

Hong KongUnfortunately we felt dinner was over priced with things like the meat not being good quality or fresh. Everything else was great though.
Beautiful location with beach at front and rain forest at the back of the property. Perfect for a relaxing break. Free activities like paddle boarding were awesome. Staff are lovely.

Me and my husband travelled Sabah this year to celebrate our birthday's at Bungaraya Island Resort 3D2N. The check in was very smooth and all our luggage was taken care from Jesselton Point Jetty and straight to our room. On our arrival we received this delicious welcoming drinks rose syrup juice then we were introduced to our personal assistant. The villa's on the island are very spacious with large balconies, the rooms were clean and very comfortable. I like the hospitality and how the staff and workers was well trained, so helpful, polite and friendly. All the staff are well welcoming. Nice location with private beach. It was so nice to stay with nature around all the time. The swimming pool was good enough for kids and adults. Wildlife all around. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone who needs a break from our hectic business lives.

MalaysiaThe balcony could use a few more fan, instead of just one ceiling fan. The water around the kayaking area is pretty polluted with rubbish, especially during late evening time when the tide is coming in. More effort should be put into cleaning up the water.
The way the resort was designed to fit into it's environment is the best aspect of Bungaraya. Maintenance of the property is pretty top-notch. Service is excellent too. Food from their restaurant is above average, which is unusual for hotels and resorts in Malaysia. The snorkelling and kayaking equipment provided (for free) is of pristine condition. The staff even washed the snorkelling masks before handed them to us. The rooms are well designed and maintained, with high ceiling, well-lit lighting, more-than-adequet air conditioning. Also, the bathroom is huge, with every fittings working as intended. To top it of, the swimming with whale shark experience was just breath-taking.

MalaysiaIt's monsoon season so plastic waste are swept ashore on a daily basis tarnishing the pristine beach. Hotel staff cleans it every morning but perhaps for times like these, cleanup to be done more frequently during the day? Other than that all was perfect.
Friendly staff, good service, getaway to paradise not far from Kota Kinabalu city centre. Room was beautiful and better than anticipated. Slight problem with our water heater but issue was rectified under 30 mins.

United StatesNothing. It was perfect. Wish we could've stayed more than 4 days!
We were absolutely blown away by everything. There weren't many people staying at the resort so it felt so special, secluded, and peaceful. The photos don't do the resort, the services, or the scenery justice! We were going to stay at the Gayana marine resort for the overwater huts but they got damaged during the king tide, so this wasn't our first choice of resort. But we were thoroughly impressed by this place and think it was probably even better than the overwater huts I had been dreaming of! The private beach at Bungaraya is truly special and serene (no other resorts in this cove). Our beachside villa was so spacious and in pristine condition, with beautiful hibiscus surrounding the private pool, a short path leading to the beach which we could enjoy views of from our porch, and plenty of wildlife to enjoy just from our porch (lizards, monkeys, hornbills). By the beach we didn't have an issue with bugs (and I usually get eaten alive). The beachside villas are also great for a short walk to the restaurant and to the free kayak/SUP/snorkle gear checkout hut. Definitely worth splurging on the beachside villas. The coral reef accessible from the resort was beautiful (and healthy!) with lots of colorful fish and even some blue spotted sting rays. The food and service was also outstanding. That's not something we usually consider when looking for places (we usually just peruse the photos and available activities), but it was an important part of why our vacation was so enjoyable. We felt like royalty here, which was perfect for our honeymoon. We will definitely be back.
