As usual the general hotel infrastructure upon check in was below par. Broken tiles and dated furnishings around. But the greeting doorman was helpful and responsive. Despite check in after 3pm, we still had to WAIT at the front desk for them to prepare our room only at 5pm. Thought giving them the space and time for them would get us a room faster. The lift to the floor can only go UP and we had to take the stairs down. Room was renovated and clean. But the bed was old with tattered torn skirting around. View was pool and sea facing. Power point work. But toilet was not as clean despite renovated and strange had a black paint around the sink to match the sink tile. TV was small for a huge room. No Sejadah or prayer mat. Breakfast serving was a lot but it was not nice at all. Forgettable experience.

MalaysiaThe room's balcony is dusty - should be cleaned despite off peak season Few things in the room werent working fine - sink is cloggeg, toilet seat broken, the water heater switch cover fell off. In the middle of the night, the tv wall bracket loosen and fell forward half way, gosh we though what happened 😅 If there is a small table at the balcony would be nice because we can have our meals or tea there, currently just 2 chairs
The staffs are very attentive, friendly and helpful. The access direct to the beach is superb n beautiful beach n view. Restoran Nelayan next door, the food are good. Swimming pool is beautiful

SingaporeBreafast buffet no variation, same food from day one until our last day today. It would be nice to have a rotation of the food spread. Will be much better to take out the carpet at lift. To avoid issues. Swing near beach bar spoiled until the day we left still not yet fix. Despite front desk already notified maintainance A seating set at room balcony would be nice too. A decent plastic outdoor seating set woul be suffice. Space is not maximized. Hope all mentioned will be resolved.
My heart in Desaru. Tunamaya Beach Resorts & Spa this goes to my happy memories. This place is breath taking it may be old but, it has charm to it. The view is stunnning. A million no billion dollar view. Staff all good. Saw previous reviews and was bit concern. But most of the issues was rectified. Over all its been a great stay. Looking forward this resort to thrive more in the future. Thanks Tunamaya. Having thoughts of coming back. Till then.

Location was great. Access to the beach was convenient. Good in food dining at a reasonable price. Thanks to hotel mgmt for giving me a free upgrade to Royal Suite.

The beach was very near to the hotel we can hear the sound of waves so soothing and calm. All tthe staff are polite, helpful, friendly and always ready to provide service. We really enjoyed ourselves, will recommend friends and relatives and will definitely come again. I hope that the obstacle facilities will be repaired. Thank you so much Tunamaya ... 🥰😍🥰

SingaporeThe facilities were tired. There was an odd smell in the elevator, damp from the pool I think. The master bathroom had no toilet roll holder and it was difficult to get the shower to work. Even though there was a bath, there was not way to have a bath. I didn’t like that we couldn’t check in until 3 pm and had to be out by noon, it was not value for money or time to enjoy the facilities.
The view and sound of the sea was wonderful.

MalaysiaPower went off twice, they claimed to be TNB issue but before that 2 of our room had no power in different timing. Will definitely not recommend this resort for the price point, they can't even do the basic maintenance at the property. Everything is horrific, we are only here because of the availability for our large group and we will not come back again.
Beach at the resort is quiet and clean, pool is old but at least it is clean. Nelayan restaurant served good food.

SingaporeUpon booking, we were informed to pay at the hotel. However, on the day of check in, we received text from hotel asking us to pay immediately. As we were on the road, we were unable to pay via their bank account (we are tourists and do not have Malaysia bank account). We signed the authorisation form and gave them our credit card number as per their instructions. Only to find out they further want a photo of our credit card. We have no issue in paying advance, it’s very inconsiderate for the hotel staff to stress us over payment especially when it’s their policy to pay at hotel. We failed to understand why the staff did not contact us a few days earlier so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
Good view of ocean front. It’s quiet and the beach are just a few steps away.

SingaporeNon-returning of pool towel are charged. But I'm made to wait until 20 min later to be told the guy went for lunch. Room wifi is very unstable. Balcony is scattered with dead bees and leaking water are staining the ceiling and dripping onto the chairs. Toilet sinktap and showerhead are also sprouting water everywhere onto the floor. Pillow and mattress are pretty flat. Encountered a drop in the lift with misaligned door when going to checkout. Got a fright. Booking allowed for 4 pax but room is only for 3 pax... beds, towels, toiletry. Breakfast for 4th pax is charged too.
Pool is beautiful, big and well kept. Room is new and clean (exclude balcony). Nelayan dishes are great and reasonably priced.
