Finding the receptionist was a bit difficult because the hostel is divided in different wings and different floors of the building. Probably provide clearer directions on how to find the receptionist. Moreover, I found it disagreeable to see strangers' hair and clothes hung to dry in the shower room. Probably impose stricter rules about the use of the shower rooms.

The room was clean even though it was small (a bit hard for us to pray). The view of the sea from the common rooms was superb. The staff was absolutely wonderful, and the free breakfast was really helpful to someone new to the city and did not know where to eat yet!

Top bunk doesn’t get much ventilation and is a little warm but overall it’s ok

The walls are VERY thin so even in a private room I could hear literally everything from my neighbours (which would be fine if they didn’t stay up late talking loudly but is not the fault of the hostel)

The shower facilities was a little meh, had to aim for that one shower cause the other one had slow or no water at all.

The registration counter is only opened at 8am, not convenient if you want to check out early. They could provide a box to drop the room key.

It is simply hard to get to the upper bunk of the bed,and there is no shampoo and toothpaste provided lol

Only downside was that all the bathrooms seemed to get cleaned at the same time so was unfortunate if you needed to use one at that point.

Our stay was brilliant from start to finish! The staff went above and beyond, helping us find the right car park and even carrying our bags (despite our protests!) They gave us amazing recommendations for activities and trips and were always willing to help answer any questions we had. The rooms were lovely and clean with great air con. The bathrooms were always spotless, as were the communal areas. The included breakfast was great and very flexible with access at all times and a great view of the local islands. Overall a 10/10 and we were very sad to be moving on!

There are many massage shops with a very reasonable price nearby. The view of the common area is magnificent. 24/7 self-serving breakfast.

The location of the property is amazing. It is a very clean hostel even the common areas were kept super clean. The staff is very useful and you have options to book tours through the hostel.

The location was great. Very close to the Filipino market, Gaya street and right across from the waterfront (great view from the lounge). Really easy to walk around. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the hostel itself was not noisy at all. They also served a simple breakfast all day which was nice if you wanted a snack or a cup of tea.

My husband and I loved this hostel and stayed twice while we travelled around Borneo. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and generous, and the place felt so comfortable, that we just enjoyed hanging out there. Everything was clean and spotless too. The location and the sea view was also fantastic!
