Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI stayed in the dorms, and there was no AC which was hard in the heat. However the price was low and you get what you pay for.
Very peaceful location in close proximity to the main attractions. The dinning area and surroundings were lovely. The staff were also very welcoming and helpful.

United KingdomOnly thing really was breakfast. It wasn’t hot. It’s left in dishes but with no heat to keep it warm and no fresh juice.
We had a lovely cabin.

United KingdomFood at the restaurant was very nice but westernised and more pricey than local places (their nasi lemak burger was amazing though and recipe was created in the restahrant with home made burger bun, plus their home made papaya jam at breakfast is amazing) . Air con broke in the room after the first night but it was fine since there was a fan.
Beautiful location, walking distance from the orangutan sanctuary and sun bear sanctuary (10min) and rainforest discovery centre (25 min). Really nice lodge with balcony view of the rain forest, we saw many birds, squirrels and bats from the balcony. Really helpful and friendly staff. I had lost my phone charger plug at the airport and they kindly lent me theirs for my entire stay, Thank you so much! Really friendly waiter, thanks for all the lovely stories Mi!

United KingdomThe lodges were great and clean We had a long walk to ours but that was fine since we had great views and managed to see so much wildlife from our balcony. Only negative was that we had no way to contact the reception from the lodge and since there was no phone in room. My husband has heart disease and we needed this as precautionary measure. I am happy to say the hotel provided us with a walkie-talkie which reassured us.
We loved the location. It was eco friendly and everything in it was thoughtfully arranged. Food was great and the staff were all lovely.

United KingdomDinner service could be improved as we didn't always get our main meals at the same time.
This hotel is in the middle of the jungle and very close to the main attractions; the Orangutan and the Sun Bear sanctuaries. This is the biggest plus for this hotel as you can easily spend the day at these centers as it is no more than 15 minutes walk. The added bonus was the facilities at the hotel, the food choices in the restaurant and the peace and quiet, the only real noise being that of the jungle.

United KingdomBreakfast a little poor and lack of been able to have tea and coffee in the room and having to purchase from the bar. We would of liked to have had a coffee in the morning before coming to the restaurant or one on the balcony when we wanted.
The location, next to the forest was perfect. Lovely tranquil spot with very pleasant and professional staff.

AustriaThe swimming pool was rather small and we didn't end up using it. The staff at the restaurant could be a bit more attentive.
The Sepilok Forest Edge Resort is definitely one of the best hotels where we stayed during our two-week Borneo trip. Its location right at the entrance to the Orangutan Rehabilitation Center is unbeatable. The hotel grounds themselves are spacious and the bungalows are not clustered together, making it wonderfully quiet. We stayed in one at the very back with a view into the jungle. We have never seen so many different monkeys strolling by as we did there. Simply incredible to be surrounded by nature like that. The rooms themselves are large, very clean and the bed is super comfortable. The partially outdoor bathroom is spacious enough and equipped with everything you need. The entire resort is extremely peaceful and calming. The restaurant serves many Western dishes, including plenty of vegetarian options, which we appreciated as it can be difficult to find a wider selection of vegetarian food in this part of the world. We would have loved to stay longer.

SpainNo wifi in chalets. A good idea would be for them to have own vehicle to ferry guests to the orang utan and sun bear rehab places.
Excellent buffet breakfast included which really sets a guest up for a day of animal wonder.

Stunning location. The staff were fantastic and helpful. The rooms were above what we would have expected for a jungle location. Shower was warm and a treat after a long day. Dinner was great. Bed was comfortable and the air conditioning was absolutely amazing ( just make sure you adjust the setting yourself). Highly recommended.

ChileDark and smelly room (fishy), shower uncomfortable and a weird bathroom design. Plus the breakfast options weren’t that good. Maybe you could add more western options.
A wonderful location with a great landscape design surrounding by tropical rainforest (we even saw an orangutan from the yards!). Friendly staff and quite close to the rehabilitation centers.

United StatesThe food at the restaurant was delicious! But a bit overpriced.
we really enjoyed our stay here! Although you are never guaranteed, we saw many different kinds of animals and plants including two orangoutangs! You really are in the edge of the jungle. The beds and cabin was comfortable. The plunge pool (about 2 feet deep and 25 feet diameter) was a very relaxing place to cool off. The staff were very friendly. One of the guys there was looking for wildlife and would point it out to you-he is the one who spotted the two orangoutangs and came to our cabin to let us know they were close because he knew we really wanted to see them! The breakfast buffet was small but always delicious. This resort was a bit more expensive than we usually pay for a place in Southeast Asia, but it was absolutely worth it!
