Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe room was exceptionally small and there was some form of liquid on the wall behind the bed, it looked like throw up or other bodily fluids unfortunately. Other than that the staff was very nice and there even was a little cat on the counter!
The location was great! Near a park but also in a more or less busy area so you always have something to do.

UkraineI had a room for 4 persons, and I get what I paid for, but there was no daylight! Windows were closed from outside , or something else, but it was weird. Also it was 2 double banks in a very, very small room, so my head was close to the feet of another person. This small room on the first floor should be for 2 persons, not for 4 tho. I was offered to change my room for another one with 6 persons, but I refused. Don’t book 4 bed mix dorm room! And by the way, towels was for 6€ each, the most expensive one I’ve ever had.
Nice location

South AfricaThe first night was very noisy. People talking at reception outside my room until after midnight and could hear some machine intermittently. Had to buy earplugs and other two nights were better. No space in room.
Staff were friendly, location very convenient to public transport.

BelgiumThe amenities were half-broken, the staff asked for more money than the actual price promised through booking.com and failed to be cooperative when asking for a credit payment later.
We got put together divided over 2 rooms, so all 21 slept mostly together. The staff is present 24/7, so you can always go there when needed.

GreeceBeds were not comfortable and the room was very tiny. We stayed at a 4 person room and we barely had any space to open our luggages. It was a bit dirty when we arrived but the stuff took out the dirty clothes on the floor which were left by someone else. I would advice to bring your own pillowcase. Another thing we didnt like is the paper thin walls because we could hear everything.
Really nice location next to a tram station and a metro one. Close by grocery stores and a nice park to explore. The stuff were kind and friendly. They have a cat which is nice. Bathroom was okay.

Bangladesh1) What the price per room and per person they show, that's only for cash payment. Please just get known that, if you want to pay with card, you have to pay 5% extra. It is really annoying. In this era, it is not acceptable. Who carries cash! 2) 13 person's shared room doesn’t have even a locker for luggage, is it imaginable? 3) Not clean at all. At night mouse disturbed us, and ate out chips. 4) Very tiny and congested area. The area for 13 person there was only comfortable for 5-6 person.
They provide free coffee, one time paper coffee-cup, plastic spoon, sugar etc. Only that part was good from my point of view.

MaltaThin walls and noisy when in front. There were ongoing works as well, but beside that you hear everyone in the entry, people are not really being asked to keep it down a bit.
Quick, clear, clean, staff was available and accommodating. Bring cash to avoid 5% card fee and 10 euro for key deposit..

Francethe rooms were super packed, we were put in a room with construction right on the balcony which resulted in them literally nailing our window shut at the end. whithout the window there was a bit of a strange smell. there was literally a mouse living in our room that ate some of our food. the bathroom is super tiny. you can only pay in cash coz there’s a fee on credit cards and you can’t pay separately which should be indicated on the listing
the staff was pretty nice, there was a cat, most of the people there were really cool and they moved us to a different room when one of the guys in ours was acting weird

United StatesI did not like the lack of towels, wash cloths, and soap. The stairs felt very narrow. Both my friend and I were stumbling as we were walking up them. The metal on the bed was very compact and I felt like I couldn't fully stretch out as a result. I did not like I had to pay for keys despite the fact that I already paid for my room
The sleep was comfortable enough. The shower was good, and I really like bunk beds in general

I afraid to fell when stepdown from top bed.
