Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Saint MartinThey could have invested in better isolation doe the noise , because it’s a monumental building and old, you can hear everything around you.
I loved the room, very tranquil and pretty. The location was perfect. We walked to everything and it’s right in the city center. You can check in and out online , that saves you time. In the middle of the night there was a lot of noise but the staff solved this and offered us a complimentary breakfast. Very satisfied with our stay overal and would recommend this to others.

NetherlandsHotel Âme is such a beautiful hotel with a great sense for detail. It has a relaxing atmosphere, comfortable facilities and the café and shop are truly a treat - I couldn't recommend this hotel more. I enjoyed talking to Angel (owner) and hearing a little about the process up until the opening. And I'm a big fan of her ceramics which you can purchase in the shop. I wish her all the best for the future!

AustraliaThe first room we had was noisy from pedestrian traffic late at night. The street lights shone into the room despite the timber shutters - they should have curtains like the other window. The lighting in the bathroom was dreadful - absolutely nothing above the mirror- a cas of function following form.
The staff were excellent and responded to our needs as soon as they were able. The breakfasts were delicious and it was a really cosy little Cafe.

SpainMy room was right under the cafe, since the building is old -- I heard literally every step. And cafe opens at 8:00. Probably that's why there were earplugs next to my bed.
Location is good, room size was good as well. Breakfast is also very good.

South KoreaDigital lock link (sent via booking.com messenger) never worked. No breakfast inclusive option. No wardrobe. Bottled water and fridge (there was only tap water provided and no fridge in the room). You won’t want to stay here if you’re careying heavy baggages— there’s no elevator available and their stairs are too stiff.
Very good location. Very clean bed sheet and room.

GreeceI didn’t like that my room was super super SMALL, although I was on a business trip and had informed them there wasn’t even a table to put my lap top on , I had liteterally to jump on top of the luggage ( that was on the floor) to lay on the bed, it was a double bed , if we were traveling two people there wasn’t enough space for a second luggage, they do say it’s small, but this size was beyond imagination, I asked for a price reduction and couldn’t be done , I switched only one day to the room Next to mine which was actually spacious and very very nice ( I would have upgraded but it wasnt possible for all days) Staff attitude was just ok A bit overpriced for the room I was offered , it was top Floor , very small, and you had to climb ferocious stairs ( no elevator) I would consider to go back only to the room that was next to mine
Great location Great caffe ( Although breakfast is not included and the cafe closes early) Clean rooms

IrelandI appreciate the aesthetic but the complete open plan between the bed and toilet was just not for me and not something I would have chosen at all - this is not an obvious feature from any of the photos I saw or descriptions I read. This wasn't helped by having a blocked shower drained that smelt bad and resulted in a pool of water all over the entire floor every time we showered (even after bringing it to staff's attention). Tea/coffee making facilities would have been greatly appreciated...especially given the price of the room. Also the many, many steep stairs to get to the top floor - which I completely understand is due to it being in a beautiful heritage building - but I still didn't love have to run back up when I forgot something or after a very long day!!!
The design of the interior was very calm and created a nice space to relax after a busy day of exploring! The bed was very comfortable and everything was clean and airy. The location was ideal for getting around Rotterdam by foot both day and night. Proximity to train station. Proximity to the lively street of Witte de Withstraat.

GermanyNo coffee faciltiies in the room (the attached in-house cafe closes already at 5 pm). The glasses in the room were dirty. House keeping was loud on Sunday morning (8 am). The price board on the wall in the cafe did not show the current (higher) prices which led to an awkward discussion with the staff.
The location is good. Tooth brushes in the room.

FranceThere is no lift and the stairs are so narrow that it makes it really hard to go up and down with your luggage. It is no mentioned anywhere when you do your booking that you will have no lift and no help with your suitcase. It is three huge floors to climb!

PolandThe room I stayed in (Petite) was so bare bone and basic that it was too much for me. Other than a bed and a toilet there was really nothing else. No kettle, no seat, no facilities available for the hotel guests and reception opened 9-5. I was surprised there is no way for me to make a hot tea in the evening. This was too much or should I say, too little for me. I also found the way of unlocking the doors somewhat confusing and I can see less tech-savvy guests having problems with that potentially. Other rooms might be better, but the 'Petite' is almost like a cell, but hipster.
The hotel is located in a historic building in a very central location. The quality of furniture and toiletries was very high. I've had a nice view from the window. The staff called me on the day of my arrival and they were very helpful.

BrazilIt was the smallest room I have ever seen. My luggage (it was a small one) had to stay in front of the room’s and bathroom’s door. I woke up in the middle of the morning, to go to the bathroom, and stumbled, hit my arm in the wall, it was crazy…
Everything new, good location. Staff helpful, I would arrive late, asked for a room in a low floor and they helped me with that (because of the stairs)…
