How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

It did feel a bit outdated but definitely nothing too bad or unusable!
It wasn’t too bad but don’t expect to stay in a really fancy room. The room was more than up to par and the person at the desk was really friendly!

Inside could use a bit of TLC
Location. Staff. Breakfast was fine first 2 mornings, after that it got a bit repetitive. Had very nice maid service daily; we didn’t want/need it, we just didn’t find the door sign til late.

Attitude and unwelcome attitude of female receptionist
I liked the location, the breakfasts and the helpful worker who was not te receptionist who showed concern for my wellbeing because of my muscle injury and arranged a change of room so I had no stairs to walk up !

The room is not equipped with A.C, so I assume that during summer days at least a ventilator should be provided to make stay more comfortable.
הצוות מסביר פנים ועוזר ככל הניתן. The location is 100%> can't be better. Easy to central station, in the middle of all. Loved it I want to mention especially Ana, that helped me a lot to find my lost phone even after I checked out and she made her best to find it. Thank you Ana for that.

Some staff at breakfast d didn’t understand what I meant when asking for cups for coffee and replied no. Had to drink out of glass.Although no fault of the hotel sometimes it was a problem getting past chip eaters in the doorway

The only thing I didn't like was the bed sheets didn't look brilliant. Food stains of the bed sheets. Other than that brilliant highly recommended

Very handy location in the centre of Amsterdam. Nice and clean, friendly receptionist. When we asked for some boiling water the lady at reception gave us a kettle for the room so we could make tea at our leisure.

We thought I was weird we had to give our room key to reception?
There is nothing wrong with this hotel! From the reviews I was worried but it was clean, central, the breakfast was fine? The hotel was quiet and beds comfortable.

Nothing I didn't like. Think there could have been a bit more choice at breakfast
Friendly helpful staff. Construction work directly outside but didn't hear anything from inside, couldn't have asked for anything more central. 10 min walk from Amsterdam central station, 10 min walk to palace & Dam square

Very noisy (close to Dam Square). The options at the breakfast buffet a bit limited!
The location is perfect. Just at the city center, a couple minutes on foot from the main train station!

The walls are a little thin and you can here others (sometimes) but didn’t really impact our stay
The location and value for money compared to others. The breakfast was great as well as the staff especially Norbert. Would stay again

A bit outdated, looks like this last time renovation had been done in last century breakfast was passable, but a bit spartan-2 types of bread, one type of ham, cheese, eggs, omlet, bacon, apples & mandarins

The room was colder than the hallway and there is an extra pillow in the closet but no extra blanket. The window in the room is wooden, not plastic and does not close very tightly, and given that it overlooks the central street, you can hear all the sounds, conversations and trams. Also, there are no free sockets in the room and in order to use them, you need to disconnect something. Although smoking is prohibited in the hotel, there was a persistent smell of cannabis in the corridors - but this is almost everywhere in the center of Amsterdam.
Location of the hotel is perfect- just 10 minutes walk from the Central Station, on the central street. Very good and supportive staff. The presence of an elevator is convenient for those traveling with suitcases. Breakfast was also good.
