Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainThe stairs are steep, so if you take a heavy suitcase with you, be prepared as you have to go one floor up.
Although there were vouchers in the hotel room to get a coffee and croissants in a nearby bakery, we didn't use these. So I have no comments here.

AustriaThe smartphone door key did not work, but staff was helpful. Stairs are small and steep so if you have large, heavy baggage, this hotel is not for you.
Small, cozy rooms. Central location, lots of restaurants and bars around. Good price. I also liked the free breakfast coffee + brioche at the nearby bar.

BelgiumThe room was really nice, with a nice view on the street. We got a great room and we were really comfortable. It was very easy to communicate with the reception prior to our arrival. Check in and check out are easy. Would recommend !

United KingdomRoom on the small side. Shower and toilet very small. Stairs up to room (on third floor) VERY steep and narrow. But overall we enjoyed our stay here. Just avoid 3rd floor if you have mobility issues.
Good location. Very Clean room. Large, comfy bed. Lovely food in restaurant. Friendly staff. Shower hot and powerful enough. Towels renewed daily.

United KingdomThe bed was massive, far too big. A normal size bed would give you room for a chair. Sloping ceiling meant you couldn't sit up in bed.
The location of the hotel was excellent in the quieter part. Very clean and was checked daily.

ItalyWhen checking out, it would be nice to have a defined and easier process to temporarily drop the luggages. Since the restaurant was closed and there is no reception, we ended up leaving them at the nearby caffe which has a partnership for the breakfast.
Perfectly located and clean

United KingdomUnfortunately our room was right above the (really delicious) restaurant just one floor up from street level, and with only single glazing, and not quite fitting thin curtains we heard everything going on, earplugs were provided but this isn't the hotel or room if you want a quiet night sleep - at a weekend anyway, its a bustling all hours neighbourhood which is fab but the noise was an issue, maybe other rooms are quieter so worth asking as everything else was great!
The location was great really bustling vibrant area a short 10-15 minute walk from centraal station with great restaurants, cool cafes, independent shops, and the staff were all lovely and friendly, it had a really good vibe about it, simple modern decor with lovely bathroom and all the beauty of an historical Amsterdam townhouse. The restaurant below is a must while visiting, as is the coffee shop opposite where you get a free coffee/pastry with your stay as your breakfast, you can also easily walk to all the sights / museums across the city within 45 mins.

NorwayThe bedside lamps were fairly weak: not much good for reading.
Good facilities: bathroom, WC. Quiet (except when scaffolding was being moved in a nearby street!). Good kettle. We asked for a second chair, and got it. Above all, everyone was very helpful. The idea of a free breakfast across the street is neat (but we usually walked off before it opened).

GermanyIn January, during the night, it was too cold for me as the heater turned off at 10 p.m. and couldn't be turned back on until 8 a.m. The bathroom and toilet didn't have a heater either, which made it colder than the room. I found this uncomfortable :(
The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room had a lovely view, and guests were provided with amenities such as tea makers, water bottles, and a voucher for coffee at a nearby cafe.

United KingdomPerhaps a few door softeners so we do not hear the doors closing, otherwise everything else was fine.
The staff in the restaurant were helpful and friendly on arrival. The location was ideal with quick access to shops, and tourist attractions.

IrelandNo coffee facilities, went downstairs a couple of mornings, the restaurant was closed, and opened late. Might be a great idea to have a kettle and simple coffee facilities in the room. Other than that it was perfect for our needs.

United KingdomOnly minor niggles - overall very positive and would go back. A problem with the shower drain meant the ensuite area flooded rather quickly… Some contradictory guest info regarding baggage, entry instructions etc. though the new management are probably working on this gradually. Trying to find a human on site / downstairs somewhat tricky and unreliable.
Very nice warm clean compact yet airy room nicely (recently) refitted, large comfortable bed. Convenient location. The staff on site downstairs friendly and helpful (though getting hold of them not always easy/obvious or predictable).
