Don't forget this is a hotel almost in the centre of Arnhem and nearby the trainstation. This is a plus for some, and for others it is not. Take this in consideration when you book your room.

I love the atmosphere. It's like a sort of homecoming; you feel home right away. For me that was exactly what I needed.

Breakfast starts a 7:30 h, but I had to leave already at 6:45 h.

The hotel is a truly beautiful old building. You have the railway station, central bus station, city center and the Sonsbeek park in walking distance.

Climbing 4 floors to get to our room. No AC but we haven’t found a hotel with AC anywhere.

A beautiful, monumental building, outside and inside as well. Very nice and spacious room, balcony with a beautiful view. A very unique and personal experience. Great location as well. On top of that the staff made us feel very welcome and was very helpful. Very happy!

Refused to provide a little milk for coffee, powdered milk in room is not milk. It's a simple thing to provide. Breakfast in room (due to Covid) was poorly thought out.

One of the radiators of the central heating had air in it so it was making noise all night and didn't heat very well. The bathroom needed some minor paintwork renovation

The service at Hotel Molendal was highly unsatisfactory. We were sold something different from what we received, and the actual experience did not justify the price of 142€ per night. The presence of ongoing construction work right outside our window, undisclosed until check-in, significantly impacted our privacy and peace. The crucial information about the construction work, which affected our comfort, was hidden in an automated booking confirmation email sent in Dutch, a language we couldn't understand as non-locals. Despite our efforts to express dissatisfaction and request a discount, both directly with the property and through Booking.com customer service, the property refused to compensate us for the inconveniences faced. 142€ is a substantial amount, making our planned vacation at Hotel Molendal a rare and special occasion for us. The rooms, advertised as luxurious and comfortable, failed to deliver the expected relaxing and beautiful experience. In the morning, we were unpleasantly awakened at 8 am by the noise of construction work and the workers' radio, further diminishing our peace and privacy. The worker's direct view into our room added to the overall discomfort (see photos). Additionally, we possess video footage documenting the extent of the noise disturbance and visually depicting the close proximity of the construction worker to our room; unfortunately, we are unable to upload them here but we uploaded them to google reviews, in case you are interested to see them. This experience not only marked the worst customer service I've encountered in years but also ironically stands as the most expensive stay I've ever booked. For a property in this price class, prioritizing customer satisfaction should be paramount. Instead, we left feeling cheated, ripped off, and profoundly disappointed. I cannot recommend this property and advise those seeking a pleasant experience to choose an alternative.

The worst thing of all is that in a country which is first class for cycling facilities & cycling itself, there are no bike parking facilities at the hotel & you are not welcome with your bike. In fact we were not welcome at all. It was a horrible negative experience but thankfully the only one in our one month tour along the Rhine. Cyclists don’t go there!

I’m sorry to say that we did not enjoy our stay here at all. The hotel itself is in a lovely old house which is decorated in a pretty way. However not so the attic where our room was. Our room was small with a horrible toilet & shower room, both in cupboards. There was noise all night from the street outside too.

Welcome was below par. Very defensive, stand-offish and stiff/formal. Other personnel we met was very warm and friendly, but the person which is supposed to be welcoming you to the hotel did not make us feel at ease or welcome at all. If you can see through / ignore this like we did, i would recommend the hotel for sure.

All the Classic Double rooms were on the third floor with no lift and we felt very much as though we were in the rafters! But that was reflected in the room rate so no real cause for complaint.

Good location close to the train station and the centre of Arnhem. Bus for the Openair Museum stops outside the hotel. Nice bar area for the evening. Staff very friendly and helpful. Everything was spotless.
