While the hotel has a clean feel, I believe it's time for a renovation to enhance its overall appeal and comfort. With a modern touch, it could elevate the guest experience and attract even more visitors.

1st evening the receptionist who served us later in the restaurant was a bit rude and her colleague the other waitress was the same. At dinner they just threw everything in front of us. You can rent e-bikes but I found it ridiculous when we wanted for only 2-3h and they wanted to charge us nearly the same money what you have to pay for the whole day... The Jacuzzi didn't work.

Staff attitudes are not the best way to describe , they need more training and experience to understand clients needs and customer service is very important, for example if you are staying in for 7 nights and room attended by the guest whenever you buy a drink or having breakfast the staff always asks to pay first and then you can have your breakfast, either for drinks , I finded very weird thing that you ask guest to pay first and making them uncomfortable with their stay and felt like we going to run away. Not sure what experience they have had in the past . Definitely staff training is required and attitudes change is required. Overall I can only recommend a few people form house keeping whom was trying their hardest to keep us interested.

The room was located next to the entrance door , near the elevator so we kept on hearing the door slamming the whole night when people walked through. The was no reception coverage at night to complain and report this problem to, so we fixed it ourselves by placing a chair in front of the door. The douchegel was empty and the holder was broken. Unacceptable if new people are checking-in. The carper was totally soaked, as they washed it before our check-in, which also didn't make any sense as it stayed wet until the next day. Also there is a coffee machine in the room but no thee option, not everyone likes coffee. There is no fridge/minibar which is a shame.

The area of the hotel is really green and peaceful. The room was good. The swimming pool was nice

Check-in took a while as no one was at reception; the allocated room had a carpet covered in stains and the room had an unpleasant odour; the interior of the hotel needs maintenance as it looks shabby, again with carpet stains and peeling wallpaper.

The room didn't have lots of amenities. It lacked a fridge and an air conditioner. The room was too old as well, everything feels like it came directly from the 70s and was not upgraded afterward. The balcony door did not have any mesh so you cannot open the window during the night, since the hotel is located in the woods, there are many insects rushing into the room as soon as you open it. Given the price point, you would expect at least

Breakfast Buffet was not replenished on a regular basis, tables were not clean after guests finished eating, Staff prefered to have a chat 😞. No swimming pool towels. Very dirty carpet in the room. No airco. No fridge / minibar.

I would prefer a firmer mattress.

We discovered this hotel in 2019 and every time we visit our family in Meppel we stay here. It is located in the middle of a wooded area and one might think that they’ve taken a wrong turn, but don’t worry, you’re on the right path. The restaurant is very good and offers typical European food as well as a few Dutch specialties. and the breakfast buffet is well stocked. There is even a small swimming pool where you can relax or get a few short laps in before bed or breakfast.

The carpet was filthy as hell… We felt that management was trying to budget expenses, being the most ecological country plastic glades in the bathroom and paper mugs in the bedroom, if you pay for the normal price (120€/ night) you expect more quality. And definitely more cleaning. Dogs are allowed, 15€ per dog per night… a complete abuse … having seen the carpet condition.. the dog slept on the bed. my dog was cleaner than the carpet. the second day we made some sandwiches for the day, the cleaners did not cleaned the desk, beds were done and towels changed, tho. I just believe this place is a little bit expensive for what you get.
