Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceI think it's a shame to have reduced the cosiness of the place, I loved the sofa with the smeg fireplace in front of it. My room was very spacious but lacked furniture, it needed a small sofa and a nice rug to really recapture the spirit of the place. Finally, why did you change your beautiful dishes for this uniform white dishes?
the location, service and breakfast are always excellent

BelgiumWe did not have the feeling of a 4-star hotel - there was a self-check in, the toilet for clients in the lobby was behind locked doors so we had to ask to be allowed in, nothing so striking or negative but the photos look somehow nicer. I would think of it like a 2 or max 3 star hotel, so found it expensive for what it was
Great location next to the train station but still calm and nice neighbourhood. The staff was super nice and friendly. They were very kind to let us leave our luggage in a safe space before and after check-out. We had a nice, clean and comfy room

NetherlandsThe room was very small and no coffee and tea in the room. However the great tea and coffee bar downstairs made up for it.
Loved the small snacks/drinks they offered: welcome drink, free soup, chocolate in the room, night cap drink. Also we made use of the spa which was amazing. As a former Maastricht local it was nice to see the culture incorporated in the hotel.

CroatiaHotel is rated as 4 star, but I would not say so. It feels like 3 star hotel. Also, it is tired. Furniture in the lobby and room is worn down. Bathroom could definitely be cleaner. You could see dirt on the tiles around towel hook.
Hotel is in a very good location. Breakfast was good.

NetherlandsNothing to point out. The overall level was what I expected for the price paid.
Overall, this is a nice hotel. It has a nice lobby area that already causes a good first impression. The staff are very friendly. The room is OK, with a comfortable bed and a clean and modern bathroom. Good facilities. The sky window in the room is a cool feature. Breakfast was also good. Variety of choices between salty and sweet.

NetherlandsOn booking the hotel comes across as a boutique property where in fact its a really large standardised stay. The rooms lack any amenities such as water, toiletries etc. Also, of you have a room at the street side it feels as if pedestrians are in your room when they walk by or stand there for a smoke. (Lacks serious isolation)
Very conveniently located close to the train station.

NetherlandsThe pillows were not too our liking, very bulky but also soft, not giving proper support. That is of course personal taste.
I was surprised by how homely and welcoming the place was. I am used to hotels being nice but also kinda formal. This place was nice but also cosy. There was a big lounge that felt more like a living room, where there were books to read and games to play. The free soup and night cap are also a nice touch.

PortugalNothing specially but As an suggestion that would be good if rooms has a minibar. And also we didn’t have a cleaning room service in our second day.
The staff were friendly and hospitable. There was soup, coffee, tea and fruits that they offered free of charge. The room was clean. The hotel's location was outstanding, situated near the city's central station and only a 10-minute walk from the city centre. The lobby of the hotel was nice and you could find games and books to enjoy the moments there.

United KingdomThey were doing a lot of maintenance work. There was drilling on 3 mornings which started at 10.15/10.30am and my sleep was very disturbed (I was sleeping late from working). It was very noisy and there were no explanations or apologies. I realise that they need to do this work of course, but I think there should have been some discount to make up for the inconvenience. The lobby was also very noisy and the free soup was not available on one day. This is a great perk of the hotel and it was disappointing for it not to be available.

NetherlandsFrom the hotel you can walk to the center of Maastricht in 10 minutes. We had a room on the city side. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel is located next to the station, but it was very quiet outside at night. The breakfast was absolutely fine for us. We requested a gluten-free breakfast. (You must provide this at least 24 hours in advance!) Coffee and tea are free drinks during the stay.

BelgiumThere isn't a dedicated check-in counter so I felt a bit unattended to when we entered, but staff were nice all the same. The view from the room wasnt anything memorable.
Location is great if you are coming by train. Easy to wander into the inner town within 10-15 mins while enjoying shops, restaurants and shops along the way. The free tea/coffee croissants and little treats like fruit made it lovely.
