Quite a lot of light was coming in through the window curtains, which were too thin. This can make sleeping hard in the summer months. No in-house dining on Sunday but plenty of options elsewhere.

Wonderful boutique hotel in the central part of Alesund with art nouveau vibe. Rooms were good size - plenty of space for luggage plus chairs table desk and storage. Bathrooms were very modern, functional, and also good-sized. Very close to all major sights in Alesund. Excellent breakfast options, healthy and nutritious.

Would like air conditioning. Any hotel room will get stuffy and because of summer sunlight the heavy curtains need to be closed to sleep, preventing air flow from windows.

The hotel is beautiful and so well appointed. The staff was lovely and very accommodating. Breakfast was excellent and nice that included. This is now one of my favorite hotels.

The hotel was SO beautiful and very chic. The rooms were clean and had a good amount of space for all our things. The staff were so kind and even made us a breakfast to go since we would be missing breakfast because of an early flight. We also paid for dinner at the hotel restaurant and loved the food. It was delicious. Overall we’d highly recommend staying here!

I don't drink coffee but my friend does and said it was the only thing she didn't like about the hotel. The rest was perfect.

Beautiful design, clean, and comfortable. Room was on the 4th floor with ceiling windows. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast options - healthy and upscale - quality not quantity.

Outside food and drink are not allowed in the garden or lounge because it is also a restaurant and this completes with them. So there isn't a location to enjoy these things, other than your room.

Great location, nice clean design, friendly staff, and good breakfast. Because I booked two separate stays, they allowed me to store my suitcase in their closet for 2 days in between while I was exploring the fjords. This made ferry travel much easier.

The hotel is in the center of town. The room was in a good size, and had an extra sofa. Comfortable bathroom. Comfortable bed. There is a small refrigerator and every thing you need to make coffee and tea. Breakfast is excellent.

There is no AC in the rooms despite this being stated on the website and due to the hotel being located in the center of the city, when opening the windows to open some air it is a bit noisy. The bathroom has no shelf to store/keep cosmetics.

We were not staying in Alesund for longer. I could have stayed in this hotel for my entire Norwegian holiday.

Everyone on Norway seems to be friendly. The staff at 1904 were exceptionally friendly , accommodating and were genuinely interested in making the guests stay an exceptional one. I have been in many hotels in many cities throughout the world. I would be hard pressed to find a friendlier more accommodating staff.

Only gripe was the walk in shower and the splashing of water everywhere.
