Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwedenToilet seat was loose, a totally minor thing :-)
Breakfast was amazing and we got an upgrade to a higher tier room which was a nice touch. We checked in really late and the receptionist suggested us an open restaurant to get food at. Perfect.

HungaryWhat we didn't like about the hotel was that the mattress was too soft for us, so it wasn't so good to sleep on.
What I liked was the location of the hotel. It was a short walk from the ferry to the hotel. Check in was very quick. The room was nice and warm, so it was nice to warm up on the couch after the freezing weather outside. The underfloor heating in the bathroom was very pleasant. The view of the fjord from the room was wonderful. The view from the restaurant during dinner and breakfast is equally beautiful. The breakfast was plentiful, a large selection, everything was very tasty. The staff was very nice and helpful. Thank you for the late check out. This gave us time to walk up to the waterfall after breakfast, and then after lunch we were refreshed and could take the ferry back. Unfortunately we could only spend 1 night here this time, but we really enjoyed the quiet, peaceful surroundings so out of season.

United StatesTwo things we didn't like: 1. We paid for a room with a view facing the fjord. It was lovely until the cruise ships arrived and parked directly in our view...very close. That was quite disappointing. 2. As I mentioned above, this lower section of the hotel is tired and needs some updating; however, it was very clean and everything worked just fine.
The setting of the hotel is wonderful. The new addition higher on the hills is fabulous. The lower original section where we stayed is "tired" and needs some work. The room was very clean and the hotel serves a fabulous breakfast.

IsraelThe facilities of the hotel are a little old, not so well kept and also the level of cleanliness did not meet my expectations.
The hotel is located in a great location near the docks of Geiranger. The staff was nice and the food at the hotel was good.

GermanyWe were not allowed to check in early and I do not think there was a reason for this. We were in September, there were no bus tours and the hotel was not full.
This room had the best view of any place we stayed in Norway! It has a balcony directly overlooking the Geiranger Fjord. It is hard to leave the balcony to explore the area. The town is very small but fun to explore. A must do is the walk up the waterfall that is next to the caravan park, beautiful. Wonderful breakfast included. This is the only big hotel in this small town and it is pricy, but the view and breakfast are worth the money.

AustraliaThe fjord view was not like the one pictured for my type of room. I could barely see the fjord over the front building of the hotel. No tea or coffee facilities in the room.
Great location, very close to Geiranger Village especially once I discovered I could access through the gift shop.

NorwayIn general the hotel was good. It is just a bit old. No amenities except liquid soap + Shampoo in the shower. The price is high but this is quite a general price in Norway so we were not so surprised. The staffs were nice and helpful.
Location is very good. Close to the port, shops, restaurants. Good view from the balcony. We stayed at Room 704.

United KingdomHairdryer went pop on first day and despite taking to reception it wasn't replaced. Minor issue.
Location Location Location Simply its all about the Location, perfect setting overlooking the Fjord. We had a balcony with fjord view, which was perfect. Small town, but with enough small shops and restaurants to pass our two nights. Plenty of activities in the area, water based and inland. We did the Waterfall trail and hired a small motorboat aswell. Nearby viewpoints inland are definitely worth a visit. Overall hotel was comfortable and a great breakfast.

IndiaThe staff attitude is very rigid. I stayed with them for 3 nights. I requested a late check out at 12 30 pm. (against the official time of 11 a.m.). Even though they were having free rooms, they would not extend the time unless I paid extra. I was not delighted by such a lousy attitude.
Location is fabulous, in the center of the village.
