Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

BulgariaRoom was small, just a bit larger than the bed and the wardrobe (that was just as advertised).
The room and the shared WC were as advertised. The main advantage of the place, however, is its restaurant which serves amazing dinners (you need to inform the hotel the day before your arrival, but they send a message ahead of time). Local produce which tends to achieve the level of haute cuisine. Breakfasts don't seem huge, but you are given good choice of food and it's still enough to get you 50km further on a bike. The staff is extremely helpful at all times!

SwedenIt's likely that this hotel will be booked out next time we visit Norway as people like us who stay there will recommend it very highly.
This hotel is something special. Our room was spacious, comfortable and quiet, and the view was of mountains in the distance. An excellent information booklet on the area was in the room. Good bathroom too. There were cooking facilities, but we had booked a 3 course tasting menu for vegetarians. It was rather expensive at NOK 825 per person, but given it was the most delicious food we ate during our whole time in Norway, we're not complaining. There was soup with 3 types of bread for the starter. All tasted fantastic. A cabbage role main course was superb. Dessert was a brownie. Although my preference is for chewy brownies, this one tasted good. The cocktail with rhubarb was yum. Staff were lovely.

The staff were absolutely incredible. Held a table for us for the ‘tasting’ meal despite us arriving 90 minutes after it was supposed to begin, as well as providing us some solid intel of where we might find some wild moose, despite it not yet being migration season. Great food, beautiful location.

The owners and staff are all very dedicated to making your stay as enjoyable as possible. They take the time to talk to you and give you useful information even though the atmosphere is hectic at the time. The rooms are superfresh and the beds very comfortable with big pillows. I booked shared bathroom - no issues there at all. The food - well the chef makes very tasteful original food. the wine that accompanies the food - wow. So I think I liked it all - and it was QUIET. Just very thought through place. Loved the interior details. Let's just say you pay - for what you get and more.
