The location is not that good. It's pretty far from the center of town only Go here if you have a car

Ensuite facilities would be nice. But I assume the building is listed and couldn't be altered. But that's just me being picky. No complaints really.

Would have preferred a private room to dormitory but they were fully booked. However the dormitory was large , everyone was friendly and the bathrooms were adequate .

Excellent well-equipped hostel with good self catering kitchen and a great location opposite the beach. Friendly owners and dog! Good base for visiting Cape Reinga.

Some residents were inconsiderate and noisy in evening but quietened down after 10pm. We had an early rise so wanted an early sleep. . Otherwise our stay was excellent. Can't help inconsiderate patrons 😕

Wished there was some entertainment like a t.v to watch some movies or board games/books. The stairs that lead you to the bedrooms is rather narrow and steep, not suitable for someone pregnant

The lodge was very comfortable and warm with beautiful wood throughout the building absolutely stunning place, so nice. This lodge would be a perfect place to have a family gathering or friends, theres a sheltered outdoor area with a large table, lights and a pizza oven. We had a great view of the beach from our bedroom and a really cozy bed. When we arrived we were greeted with a friendly smile and great hosts

The hosts are really nice and helpful, we got a lot of tips for things to see in the area. Kitchen is very well equipped, garden and terrace beautiful. The beach is just up front. Beds and rooms very comfortable, 100 % recommended!!

Amazing place to stay in a amazing location! We were only meant to stay one night but couldn't leave without spending another! We could have easily stayed a week. Super comfortable beds, in the most beautiful house with great facilities. The charm of the lodge is beautiful along with how clean and tidy the lodge is. Will definitely be back!

I loved everything. Some may find the stairs a challenge. Being a big old wooden creaky house, sound travels which might take some adjustment for those not used to it. It is all part of the character of the place.

This is a lovely 2 story Victorian villa right on the beach. The rooms are well-appointed and spacious. A great place to stay and relax, or use it as a home base for exploring the northern tip of the country. The shared kitchen was well equipped and all the facilities were beautifully clean. The hosts live in-house in their own apartment and were really helpful with tips on what to do in the area.
