Room is not huge but is perfectly adequate with the shared lounge area available for use.

What a fabulous experience to stay in this beautiful location. My partner who loves to take photos of birds was in his absolute element with all the birds around. Was our favourite place for our holiday.

We are fussy travellers and this is the best place we have ever stayed and we have travelled extensively. Lovely people, beautiful room with character furnishings and renovated bathroom, exceptionally clean, wonderful views and gardens, great common areas. Easy to find and very peaceful would definitely stay again 😊

There was nothing to dislike.

We were warmly greeted by Dave and immediately given a tour of the beautiful room, balcony and common spaces. You could tell they wanted this to be the best stay of our trip to New Zealand. The bed was wonderful, the oversized bathroom and luxury shower were great, the balcony and its commanding view over the entire town and valley were spectacular.

Needed to stay longer!

Dave and Jill are marvellous hosts - extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to help you get the most from your stay in Hanmer with their broad local knowledge. The views from the lodge are captivating and the gardens add to the beauty and restfulness of the location overlooking the village. The accommodation is luxurious with great attention to detail and comfort. An essential choice for a memorable experience in Hanmer Springs.

Nothing. The place was absolutely amazing. It was so nice to wake up to see snow on the distant mountains and the accommodation was withing walking distance to the hot springs.

The view is stunning as the lodge is slightly up the hill, so can view the village and the mountains. The sunrise is so beautiful too.

We had a tremendous view from our room and a balcony overlooking a lovely garden which was full of visiting birds. Jill and Dave are great hosts who made us very welcome and provided us with information about the surrounding area - even providing us with spa towels to visit the springs. Breakfast was plentiful and wholesome with some delicious home baking. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

I think a better seating arrangement if they continue to offer a continental breakfast as there was only one low table for two guests. You could take your breakfast on a tray to your balcony if so desired as an option. Also, would have liked an espresso machine in the lounge/breakfast room.😉. The walls between rooms need some soundproofing. You can hear peoples conversations. Although I’m expressing ways to improve the experience we really loved this place and the hosts. So very comfortable with many amenities and a good value.

The whole stay was perfect, the comfort and attention to detail. The view was amazing. We could walk into town. The bed was so comfortable. To top it all off the breakfast in the morning included freshly made warm berry muffins. All just perfect.

Beautiful location. Welcoming hosts. Tranquil atmosphere. Directly on Conical Hill Walkway. Short distance to restaurants. Comfortable room with a touch of luxury. Sitting on our balcony for breakfast watching birds at garden feeders with the amazing view of the town and surrounding mountains.

Friendly and helpful owners, beautifully appointed accommodation, spotlessly clean, probably one of the best locations in town because of the views, breakfast cereals and toast included and home made biscuits, tea & coffee available in guest lounge, free guest use of some mountain bikes and towels for the springs, lovely gardens with exotic sounding bellbirds.

The view was great. Thoroughly enjoyed the birdlife visiting the beautiful gardens. Very pleasant and helpful hosts. Very clean room with some added touches to make the stay memorable. Loved all of the efforts the hosts are making to be considerate of the environment. Ample breakfast (fresh wild blackberries were amazing!) The garden gate opens onto the Conical Hill track - a lovely 30 min walk through forest on a wide, well maintained track.

Beautiful comfy bed overlooking a gorgeous vista of mountains and greenery. Very helpful friendly hosts. Loved watching the birds in the garden from our balcony. Would definitely return!

Lovely property set on the hill above Hanmer Springs. Very comfortable room with delightful balcony overlooking the town below with the valley and mountains beyond that. Perfect for sitting out eating breakfast whilst watching and listening to the birds in the garden. The hosts are delightful and have done a great job in creating a beautiful place. They also care deeply hate their guests enjoy their stay. Lovely breakfast. Would certainly recommend if you are staying in Hanmer.
