The bathroom towels were a bit on the small side, however, the unexpected loan of pool towels to use the local spa facilities were an added bonus.

Jill & Dave gave us a very warm welcome and offered a true home away from home with every comfort.

This is the most beautiful place to stay and we were sorry we did not have more time. Jill and Dave go above and beyond to make guests comfortable and provide a wonderful experience. The attention to detail, stunning views, beautiful garden and wonderful bird song sets it apart and we look forward very much to returning.

Wonderful bed and breakfast which surpassed expectations. Luxurious room and lounge and awe inspiring views from room and balcony. Gorgeous cottage garden for use to relax in as well. Hanmer thermal springs was a great experience, overall a truly relaxing day.

Nestled high into the hills over Hanmer Springs, 8 on Oregon is fantastic accommodation, probably the best BnB experience we have had in NZ. View from the room and balcony was incredible, beautifully appointed and decorated room/bathroom with a lovely guest loungeroom and quaint cottage garden to sit in and relax. 10 minute walk from town and right next to a forest walk to a picturesque lookout. Wonderfully welcoming, accommodating and informative hosts.

Lovely continental breakfast! Beautiful views, comfortable bed, modern and very clean bathrooms. Warm and friendly hosts that had great tips, recommendations and information for our stay. Always up for a chat with their lovely pup Izzy. Very homely and comfortable. Would absolutely stay again if we were ever in town! Thanks for having us.

Nothing we didnt like. Just a note; if you have physical disability, Or a large vehicle, the driveway is steep and narrow, and tricky to turn around.

The view is spectacular. The room was perfect. Bed and pillows were comfortable. WiFi and Sky TV worked well. Loved all the little extras in the room also. Hosts, Jill and Dave were very welcoming, and were full of local knowledge of restaurants and attractions. The ultimate romantic getaway. Highly recommended.

Wonderful! We had a very relaxing break. Dave and Jill were great hosts. Very knowledgeable about the area. The lodge has the most terrific view. The room was clean and comfortable (no noise and good black out curtains) with really really comfortable beds. Highly recommend 👌

I was welcomed warmly by the owners; Dave & Jill. My room was beautiful & well appointed and everything within of high standard. Comfy bed. Magnificent outlook from my balcony. Thoughtful touches - blankets provided to use on the balcony, beach towels provided for use at the pools upon request, in room tea & coffee station, quality bedding & bathroom towels. Lovely guest lounge to relax in, with tea, coffee & cookies always available. Jill and Dave organised a sensational platter for me. Onsite parking. Beautiful gardens to enjoy with an abundance of birdlife. 8 on Oregon is well located to Hanmer Springs village. Both Dave & Jill know the area well and were happy to provide guidance for day trips I was planning. Highly recommend 8 on Oregon. A wonderful place to rest, relax and explore the area from.

Green light from something under the TV made the room quite bright at night. We did manage to slide it out of sight under the TV cabinet and made it much darker the second night.

We heard and saw so much activity and songs from bell birds and tuis from our balcony. Bird feeders that the hosts topped up regularly attracted these beautiful native birds. I've never been so close to tuis before. Got some lovely photos of them as the top of the trees was at about the same height as our balcony. Hosts are very kind and accomodating.
