How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

one of the beds had a pee stain which made the sheets smell so we couldn’t sleep in it, the kettle didn’t work so we could have coffees or anything in the morning, dirty shower and dead bugs smooshed on the wall, but cheap i guess so got what we paid for

Far from the center and shops/restaurants , very expensive restaurant inside the hotel with small portions..., the problem is that there are no restaurants around, you are close to the airport but far from everything...
Confortable and clean room , very kind staff and free airport shuttle.

Bit of a queue when checking in. Bit of external noise. Yellow bus to airport takes about 30 minutes but is free.
Comfy big bed and hearty breakfast V good value for money. Also had a good dinner in restaurant in evening.

The renovations going on that we were Not told about and the associated noise with them. Some lights in the room did not work and the taps dripped and were loose. Also guests arriving in the middle of the night need to be told to be quiet going to their rooms, as we were woken on several occasions and once I had to get up and tell people to be quiet in the hallway at 2.40 in the morning! Not acceptable!!!
Handy location for us to get to the places we were visiting, and to the airport.

No lift for elderly mother-in-law to go to 1st floor, only had 2 face washers and towels when we had 3 people staying in the room. No hand towel.
Spacious room, nice comfy chairs, big bathroom, someone would carry our bags to the room.

the under side of the toilet set was very dirty.shower floor was very slippery and had to be careful not to fall over. It would have been good to have a booklet in the room to inform us how to use internet and TV as well as having a menu in the room.
beds were very comfortable, rooms were very quiet, so a a restful sleep. it was great that it had a happy hour and a nice restaurant

The walls were thin and this meant that we could hear all that a noisy group was making in the hallway and in the adjoining room.

The rooms are very poorly maintained. The phone cord comes away from the phone when you picked it up, the shower head needs replacing very shoddy repairs and fixes.
Our room was very noisy both from traffic noise and from the room next door.

The room has a good bed, is quite big enough, but the fabric is tired. Especially in the bathroom area and the window. The shower works, but almost everything is tired or worn. The window does not work.
This place is in an excellent location for the auckland airport. It has easy access and adequate parking. Some rooms are on the 1st floor and there's no lift, so lug your own bags up the stairs. The restaurant is good, with a reasonable menu and good staff, though they give the impression of being inexperienced, or perhaps unsure of themselves, but they didn't do anything wrong.

the road noise from my room at night
The room I had was lovely it was just the road noise that at night that made it difficult to sleep. I have stayed here several times and it has always been lovely and quite this room was above the restaurant part and faced the road I would never wont to stay in this room again

The bathroom was quite out of date & shower had mold in the shower head. But they seem to be renovating a lot of the rooms. So hopefully it’s updated when I decide to come back.
