no robes for the clients, no slippers ! isn't it a standard for Novotel ! Breakfast is average, there is a machine to make smoothie or juice but where are the fruits?! have to prompt staff to bring the fruits , bananas are ripe , fruits are not cut , machine showed its age with broken seals .... Long way for NZ to catch up with Australia with services and customer services.

Rooms are okay, nice that reception is open for night check in.

We paid extra for upgraded to lake side view but the room was on first floor and out side was doing some painting job for hotel, the workers was walking around on the roof from 730am and also the crane was out side of the window too. So, it couldn't enjoy the view at all which not point to pay extra to upgrade to.

    The staff was friendly.

When we checked in around 4:30 there were a number of frustrated people in the lobby waiting for their rooms to be ready. The couple we were travelling with couldn’t check in until 5pm (3 hours after the check in time) and weren’t offered any explanation or compensation, just “come back in 30 mins.” Our room was in need of a refurb, the bathroom was dated and grimy, carpet quite worn and there was limited room lighting.

Fantastic location, close to lots of quality dining options and the lake. Good sized room and comfy bed.

We had arrived an hour after the check-in time and our room wasn't ready. We had to wait another hour for them to get it ready, seemed we were not the only ones. We stayed on the second floor and the hallway always seemed to have rubbish on it. On the second day we arrived back after 3.30pm to get ready for an event and our room had not been cleaned and no clean towels, then when they did clean it they didn't leave any towels. On the Saturday night I think the person on the front desk must have had a hard day as she seemed to leave her customer service skills at home.

Closeness to town is awesome. Then on the Sunday we had an awesome experience of great customer service with a young lady at the restaurant, she went over and beyond.

    A disappointment

That when we arrived we had no tv Remote for our tv and so then they had to change our rooms late at night. Didn't even help us move all our luggage. We're quite rude yet didn't even give us any compensation for the move that we had to do then got put down a level in our room which didn't have a good view of the lake which we paid extra for and the beds were hard. But in our other room they were soft. Tbh I wouldn't go back for how they treated us. And on top our phone wasn't working so we couldn't call through to room service and when I told them the phone wasn't working they said they can't do anything as there maintaince team isn't around today. Which ruined our holiday. We came down for a relaxing time away with the kids and it was nothing but stress and frustration.

The pool and spas the buffet dinner was insane so was the breakfast....

The smell of sulfur made it difficult to enjoy our room and visit. We were also awoken at 8:00 in the morning by painters scraping paint around our window (the Hotel left a note in the room warning us of that possibility).

You might want to check your pillows. While the beds were very comfortable, the pillows were old and didn't have protective covers. Sadly that is a sad face feature.

Location was key for me, having two grandchildren, so we could walk to the lake and eateries. Bonus was the fact the fun park was on the night we were there. Bonus with a 10 and a7 YO!!!

    1. Room service was in the end of the day. Annoying. 2. The room small and with old facilities. Doesn’t match the price. 3 breakfast should be more diversity.
