This property was promoted as part of the tarawera ultra marathon but the kitchen / dining room was not for the runners to access breakfast prior to the race

The bathrooms were dated and housecleaning left hair on the floor and bathtub.

The hotel was located near the lake and walking distance to many wonderful restaurants. The hotel staff was very friendly and provided excellent customer service.

Were unaware that the car park had been sold there for received 2 very unwanted fines 🤬 think when checking out this should be voiced by the receptionist just a simple are you paying for parking? Were totally unaware of the signage that apparently is up at the car park and receptionist

Next to the hotel there is a restaurant arcade, where you can eat deliciously. A few steps away start stores, cafes, service outlets. Breakfast tasty and a large selection. The staff is smug. Next to the beautiful lake. I recommend!

Pool is shocking - like things growing in the grout shocking. We paid to go to an offsite pool as it was so awful.

I love this hotel. Location is fabulous, for food and adventures. Staff are always lovely and parking is so easy, albeit this time we had to pay for parking, where as for the 13 years we havent.

I notifed the reception about the lift button not working on the 1st floor but felt like it was being ignored and no way to record or document this at hotel. They require a "Feedback" form in the room that one can drop off at reception. The long wait for check in was not helpful as we had just driven 6 hours and even though we could get a our bags out of the car and stored for a the time we had no access to clean up to go out.

We had two rooms. The sheets and bed was very good and size of room was ok.

The property is slightly dated. Rooms were fine but the bathrooms definitely need upgrading. Lobby area had carpet lifting that could be hazardous for elderly or disabled folks.

The property is in a prime location. Close to lake and restaurants etc. Building itself is nice and has a great frontage with bar and outdoor seating. Layout was good and amenities are very good especially for families.

The room had a damp smell. The carpet was stained and did not look very clean. The bars were noisy. I asked the receptionist to extend our stay - she gave me the impression she had done it, but was not clear that I needed to book it myself. Towels were not replaced until late evening.

That I had to keep asking for things to be replaced-toilet paper and fresh towels, rubbish removal. Also didn't clean our room for 3 days but did it once we asked at reception.

The location was great, right by the lake, park and Eatstreat and close proximity to walk to city centre and Government gardens/Event Centre. Comfy beds and quiet(we were facing the city side). They have a pool and thermal hot water spas which is nice but they could do with a good clean.

The pool was too small for the size of the hotel- it was always crowded at different times of the day/night, with no lounge chairs to relax by the pool. The buffet (cooked) breakfast was average and the restaurant may have been understaffed during our stay as tables weren’t cleaned/cleared from guests that dined earlier in the morning, limiting our seating options.

Great central location. Staff were friendly and professional, especially those servicing the rooms. Check-in and -out was smooth and our room was as advertised and serviced daily. The continental breakfast had a good variety of foods/drinks and it was great that they allowed guests 16-years and under to eat for free.
