Everything was fantastic, including our lovely host. The lodge is in a beautiful spot and lovelier than the pics. The view is just wow. The property is clean, cosy and the furniture in the lodge is comfortable, well thought out and in great condition. My sister inlaw was delighted to be greeted by the hosts lovely dog.

Yes there is a climb, quite steep through bush to the dwelling, but with a little fitness and taking your time the track is conquerable.

Suzanne was a wonderful host, enjoyed conversation-Love the quiet, the bush, the wildlife, the general ambiance off the surrounds-A great place to relax and remove yourself from the pace of life-Off grid, solar, waterpower-Wooden structure like a ski lodge-wonderful verandahs overlook the ocean-Excellent kitchen and communal facilities-Were met and assisted with our luggage.

Beautiful view and nice room; cool cats, nice god, LOVELY host. It was a real treat to have our heavy bags shuttled up the hill on the quadbike and I loved the shower facilities after our long journey.

We were totally fine with this, but just things to note & be prepared for: no laundry, no plug points in bedrooms, no freezer and no microwave. ( Ask Susanna why and she'll be happy to tell you!)

We didn't feel like leaving this place. It is located in such a beautiful spot on top of a hill. The house itself is exceptionally well designed and built. Creativity at it's best. Susanna was very helpful and made the stay even better. Hope to be back here once again.

The owner and her pets were all so welcoming. The place was fantastic and a great spot to stay before heading off to the Heaphy Track. I definitely recommend notifying the owner of your arrival so they can assist with taking your bags up to the accommodation as it is quite a walk up.

Susanna was incredibly hospitable. We arrived late at night, she made sure we were aware of the 10 minute walk up the mountain (very worth it by the way, we saw glow worms!) and brought up our gear for us so we could enjoy the hike. We are from Canada and are familiar with the amenities of cabins, and found it very well run and all around a beautifully organized property. The common space was clean and organized but homey and filled with books, music, art and many other curiosities. Had the morning to ourselves, and were able to share stories and a chat before leaving. And the view, phenomenal! Will definitely make a point of recommending to friends, and hope to return one day.

Not really negative: The lodge is a bit up the hill and needs a rather steep but safe 10 min walk. Luggage is taken care of however.

Unique location and great guest house. Host is very helpful and friendly. Kitchen very well equipped.
