The kitchen was a bit dirty after around 16pm , but it's the fault of guests and not the hostel.

The kitchen closing during the night is a really good idea, counting on the fact that my room was literally in front of it.

The hostel is right in the center of Christchurch. It is a huge building with lots of nice people and a clean kitchen. The rooms have lockers and the bathrooms are clean as well. Sunday night is movie night and the atmosphere is great.

A reading lamp and usb charging ports next to the bed would have been nice. The shared kitchen was messy and chaotic during meal times.

Convenient location close to cafes, restaurants and malls. Stayed in a single room was surprisingly spacious. Appreciated the hangers and hooks too!

The room was a mixture of odd furniture & fittings. Very tired & worn out. No bath mat and water splashed everywhere in shower area. The double room we booked with bathroom could have had a small fridge as we were not back packing. Needed the fridge for medication and had to put into communal fridge in kitchen a distance away.

It was convenient to city.

Controlling the temperature in the shower was difficult as it would fluctuate every 5 seconds from cold to hot and not stay at one temperature. The door handle as well didn't feel like it was so secure and nearly locked myself out making sure. Also the tea and coffee was appreciated but the Milk cups were left in a cup unrefrigerated so were instantly inedible. Last thing was the other guests had left their food everywhere marked but I didn't feel like i could put my food anywhere safely and ended up wasting a lot of food in the process.

I like that the room was just what i needed in a central location accommodation, A secure door to a Private room, big enough bed, heater and hooks and a bit of entertainment. plus having the USB charging ports was a bonus. The location was very easy to locate and get around the city.

The bathroom was poorly constructed. No extractor fan so it remained steamy for hours after showering. Toilet seat and lid came loose from the toilet bowl and it kept falling forward when in use by someone. Water on the bathroom floor from the shower did not drain either so the floor was constantly flooded. Shower curtains could not be opened properly either

There was an "event" in the area which caused traffic congestion and reduced the available parking, and the staff didn't seem to know what it was about. It would seem sensible to ensure that they know what the council is planning, and to tell people as soon as it's organised.

Check in was fast, friendly, and efficient. Parking is right next door, and getting the display permit was a breeze. The entire place is exceptionally clean. The rooms are fully carpeted and seem to be vacuumed each day. The room I was in, and the whole place, really, was very quiet. The room also had openable windows which was great to keep the air fresh. Each bed has power sockets, phone storage pouches that support your phone even with the charging cable plugged in. The bed was very comfortable, with fresh clean sheet, pillow case, and duvet, and was perfectly warm. The bunks creak a bit, but not much. The lockers are all together along the wall. Tall and a bit narrow, but still good. The staff are very helpful. The location is excellent, It's within easy walking distance of almost all the city attractions, bars, restaurants, etc. The bus network runs right outside, so catching a bus is a breeze. This is my go-to from now when visiting Christchurch.

I think there aren't enough bathroom for everyone. And so many doors don't locked properly.

The localization is really good. Everything in the centre is close. Not to far to the Intercity bus. The lobby is a good place, in the dorm, we have space. Concerning the bathroom, it's good to have female and male separately.

One particular staff member on reception wasn’t very friendly or helpful. A sour start to my New Zealand trip unfortunately.

Perfect, central location - only stayed here a few nights and didn’t use many of the facilities but the kitchen looked large and well equipped.
