Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThis hotel is absolutely gorgeous and a wonderful retreat. I stayed in the Crown Jewel suite and it was as amazing as I had hoped. The entire staff was incredibly helpful and Arturo went above and beyond to help with whatever was needed. The grounds are beautiful and I have already recommended this hotel to everyone I know. Will definitely be coming back soon!

PanamaWhen we arrived we were supposed to have someone meet us at the pier and drive us to the property. There was not and when we got to the golf cart area, they said the carts were already taken and if we wanted to go, we could go separately (my husband and I). Bitter start to what was the beginning of a half birthday half mini-moon as we are also newlyweds not looking to go separately and squished between other guests for the quality we are expecting and have been given previously. We overheard other guests having a similar experience - seems like a lack of organization. Further, the food options for someone who cant eat gluten/dairy are extremely limited or non-existent.
Lovely, romantic birthday weekend. The personnel is very attentive to needs and mostly accommodating. The place is super clean, bed is comfortable and AC works wonderfully. Also added bonus the smart TV already has a Netflix account logged in for easy access.

United StatesWe liked everything about the property. Although the mattress wasn’t comfortable and the pool in our room wasn’t heated. Also there was no masseuse on staff.
It was exclusive and peaceful!

United KingdomTo have made the terrace outside Blue & Diamond room a little more private for the guests of those rooms so restaurant only guests don't 'intrude'. Cut some of the higher trees in front so better view from shared pool
Breakfast was good (though charge extra $2 for things like bacon etc which is strange. Dinner good. Beautiful and interesting view (ships waiting for Panama Canal). A special hotel

If you want to disconnect from the world this place is wonderful. Our room exceeded our expectations, it was even more beautiful than in the pictures. The food of La Dolce Vita was great every single time.

This is a magical place to stay, and the staff were extremely attentive. They worked above and beyond to make it a very special stay.

United StatesI am mobility impaired, usually need a cane to walk and stairs are particularly difficult for me. Sooooooo there are lots of stairs which were a bit of a problem. Owner Diane also uses a cane. We discussed possible solutions! But believe me, that schlep up those danged stairs is more than worth it!
The breakfasts and dinner we enjoyed there were excellent. Truthfully, the food was better at VC than what we had at 5-star Buenaventura Resort, where we had stayed immediately before coming to Taboga. We always spend our wedding anniversary on an island! All of the help were fabulous and kind. We loved them. And at our request, Joseph gave us a special jeep tour of Tobaga. He even went on a special candy/chocolate/cookies trip to the store for me and my sweet tooth. Also, the massages we received were excellent! And finally, as an added bonus, we had the pleasure of meeting the gracious owner, Diane, who built a little shack into the beautiful romantic boutique hotel it is today! The layout and the gardens are wonderful. Because she is a well-renowned interior decorator, she and her team have made this place a true delight visually. Ohhhhhh and then there is the incomparable view of the bay of Panama, the canal and the City in the distance !!!

United StatesWe recently stayed at Villa Caprichosa on Taboga Island to celebrate my cousins 25th Birthday. Our stay was nothing short of a dream come true. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional. Diane and her team are beyond kind and have created a gorgeous sanctuary, we are immensely grateful for their efforts in creating lasting memories. First and foremost, the customer service provided by the staff was beyond compare. From the moment we walked off the ferry, we felt like treasured guests, and their genuine warmth and hospitality made us feel right at home. They were always ready to assist with a smile, eager to accommodate any request, and their attention to detail truly set this place apart. Now, let's talk about the culinary delights at Villa Caprichosa. The food and drinks served here were nothing less than extraordinary. Each meal was a delightful journey for the taste buds. From fresh, locally sourced seafood dishes bursting with flavor to creatively crafted cocktails that perfectly complemented the tropical setting, every dining experience was a highlight of our stay. Whether dining in the restaurant or enjoying a meal on our private patio with an ocean view, the ambiance was always inviting and serene. The room was equally praiseworthy. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and provided all the comforts we could wish for. The attention to detail in the design of the villa and the lush gardens that surround it made for a picturesque and tranquil setting. During our stay, we also had the opportunity to explore the island's natural beauty, and the staff at Villa Caprichosa were incredibly helpful in arranging excursions and providing recommendations. It made our vacation perfect. We cannot wait to return for another unforgettable visit. It's a true paradise for travelers seeking luxury, relaxation, and culinary excellence.

PanamaI felt like I was back in Italy with beautiful and calm surroundings. We were received at rhe dock by Gilberto who gave us a super tour and history of the Island. Our suite, the Blue Diamond, had a private balcony where the excellent bilingual staff (Margie and Milagros) served our meals. Kudos to the chefs, the food was fresh and delicious.....my favorite was the ceviche! Not only is Taboga a charming Island, but Villa Caprichosa is a gem with excellent facilities and a staff that wanted to make your stay the best. We wiill be back..

United StatesEverything was perfect, only minor thing was the shower. Had plenty of hot water and strong water pressure but you had to constantly mess with the handles because it would all of a sudden get very hot or very cold and it wouldn’t stay normal. That is my only complaint, other than that it was all wonderful.
Beautiful clean property with excellent staff, all of whom were incredibly helpful and courteous. They work very well together.

United StatesIt was a glorious escape to Taboga Island. The exquisite design inside and out was perfect for privacy and socializing. There is not a view that is not perfection whether looking out at the ocean with resting tankers waiting for their turn to enter the Panama Canal, watching yachts, jet skis and beach goers off in the distance, all is serene. The hostess Diane is so gracious as she tells of the VC’s history. The food and service are exceptional.
