“We got a room with a beautiful view of Escalera Mountain Range. The sunsets were spectacular. The room, and the lodge in general is full of art pieces that give a unique touch to the property. Ah! they have an amazing library where you can spend time reading about history, art, ethnobotany, etc. All with an impressive view of the landscape. Breakfast was excellent with home-made bread and jam(!).”

Gorgeous structures, lighting and landscaping. Comfy furnishings and thoughtful design. I loved the in-suite composting toilet too. River swimming access and soundscape were amazing bonuses. I had wonderfully restful sleeps. San Roque de Cumbaza is a tiny town with friendly people and a refreshingly cool climate compared to Tarapoto.”
