How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The only downside is a lack of shared showers. As far as we know there is only 1 shared shower.
The hostel was very very clean, peaceful and quiet. Perfect for people who like to get a good night sleep & are coming to Cusco for various activities (hiking, etc. ). The kitchen was amazing and new. There was hot water for coca tea avaliable at all times. There was also hot water in the shower, which feels great after a long hike.

Friendly staff, clean room and good location. Let us check in early when arriving from a night bus and kept our luggage while we did the Salkantay trek.

Nothing that I could recall.
I like the female room. It's all equipped with a good facilities, like a private showers and toilets. The common area also very nice. The staffs were very nice and helpful. I will stay in the same hostel if I have a chance to come back to Cusco.

Very helpful staff, clean and calm. Good kitchen, nice relaxing area, close to the centre and San Pedro Market.. Beds are very comfy and there are curtains for privacy.

The most comfortable bed in Peru! Really fantastic. The staff were great. Free tea all day. Left before breakfast in the morning. Would stay again on my return. Free luggage storage if you do stay again.

Great that rooms got cleaned daily but "housekeeping" came too early most of the time and often didn't understand "come back later", do not disturb signs or similar might help.
Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Good kitchen. Easy walk to main square (though up hill to come back!)

Paying for towels, Be aware in dorms lots of people getting up very early for Inca trail, and not all people are well prepared or considerate at 3am (not the hotels fault) . Head torch went missing from bed, possibly during cleaning possibly other.
Good base for exploring Cusco, and preparing for Inca trail , hot water, powerful shower. Storage.

The kitchen is small so can get crowded if others cooking. Some of the crockery defiantly could be doing with being replaced/updated.
Comfortable and clean rooms. In a triple with 2 friends and we had plenty of space. Nice chill out area. Kitchen available. Area felt safe, close walk to town and amenities. We were able to store our bags while we did the Salkantay, we were staying here afterwards

Great hostel with very comfortable beds ( curtain, cozy and warm cover, big locker) and very clean. There is also a clean kitchen available and with what you need for basic meals. The staff is nice and always available. The location may be scary, but it's very calm (it is NOT a party hostel) and great to rest. There is a café nearby open all day long too.

Long uphill walk to get to the location, bit tiring.

Location of the hostel is only a few minutes to the plaza and San Pedro market but the hostel is in a slope area Nice and helpful staffs are happy to give you city and tour information Safe storage place to store the backpack while leave for inca trail Laundry service

Could smell the kitchen and slight damp smell in the bathrooms. Not the cheapest
Spacious rooms and a large common area - well set up for what they do, slick check in and essentials available. Quiet when we stayed (although rooms are off common area, so more down the guests)
