Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

Rooms were very clean and comfortable with all the standard amenities you might need. Very good, well balanced breakfast - just a note to picky eaters the breakfast is not buffet, but fixed menu (fruit salad, yogurt with cereal, eggs cooked to order, local cheese and ham, avocado, freshly baked pita bread and butter+jam, fruit juice, coffee/tea)

CanadaOur one complaint was the thinness of the walls. When no one stayed in the room next to us it was heavenly, so quiet. But when that room was occupied, we could hear our neighbours too clearly.
When we arrived at Casa Matara, we were warmly greeted by two of the fabulous staff members, Carmen and Fabiola, and this personalized, helpful, friendly service persisted throughout our 4-night stay. This is a cheerful, inviting hotel. Each of the four floors has a central lounge area, decorated with typical Peruvian textiles and objects, with complimentary coffee and tea available. Our room was small but like the rest of the hotel it was clean, modern and comfortable. Matara gets high marks in all the important areas: generous breakfast, super-comfortable bed, hot shower with strong water pressure, good lighting, consistent wifi, excellent same-day laundry service, and a quiet atmosphere. And it's well-situated a few blocks from the Plaza de Armas. Thank you, Carmen and Fabiola and the rest of the team, for making our stay in Cusco so special.

CanadaA lovely family run boutique hotel located walking distance from the main plaza. The staff were very attentive and kind. Breakfast is plentiful and healthy. I recommend booking the king suite as it is quite comfortable and spacious. The twin room we booked on our first stay was rather small. The owner gave us each a small gift when we checked out.

United StatesIf you are having altitude sickness, try and stay on the ground floor. There is no elevator and it is hard climbing up the steps with reduced oxygen. Also, the street the hotel is on is very busy and the sidewalk is small, be careful when leaving the front door as cars and buses wiz by fast!
The staff at this hotel were very attentive and helpful. The rooms were exactly like the pictures, very nicely decorated and what you need. The breakfast was delicious and colorful with many options. They also served cocoa tea on arrival which was needed as we were getting altitude sickness. This was also very close to the plaza, shops, sights and restaurants.

United StatesLocation was a few blocks from the main tourist area- sidewalks here were extremely narrow and dark at night making it sometimes necessary to step into the road close to traffic when passing others. Sound from other rooms and other floors was easily heard in the room at night due to the cavernous design of the building and thin walls.
Room was clean and spacious.The hotel staff was very kind and helpful. They arranged for a driver to take me on a tour of several local sights that I was interested in and also arranged all transfers to/from airport. Breakfast was good .
