Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesOur room was on the ground floor so we didn’t really have a view. There are a bunch of cats that live on the property and two of them clearly needed medical care.
The gardens are amazing. The kitchen in the would be great if we had been staying there longer. The location is great for walking around Cusco.

United StatesIt is an amazing place to stay in Cusco. The location is excellent, close to Plaza de Armas. The space is super cozy and even has a wood fireplace. The breakfast provided exceeded our expectations and included eggs, a lot of fruits, bread, and yogurt. The garden is amazing and beautifully maintained. We enjoyed our stay!

AustraliaAbsolutely nothing not to like. Wish we could have stayed a week!
I loved everything about this gorgeous apartment. My son stayed in the upstairs loft area with own bathroom and I had a decent sized double room downstairs with a bathroom. The balcony gave us views over a beautiful garden area as well as stunning views over Cusco, sunrise, and lit up at night. The front provided access to another garden where one morning I observed a cute little Colibrie (humming bird). Each morning we were provided with food to make our own continental breakfast. Heating was good. Staff were kind and helpful when needed. Easy walking distance to Plaza de Armas, shops and restaurants galore. Highly recommend.

United KingdomAt first was in loft apartment which has street on one side. Fairly noisy.until late at night.. Also the stairs affected my altitude sickness and made it worse.. Moved to a different apartment t on second day.
staff were very friendly and helpful. When I told them had altitude sickness they carried my luggage, gave me a free large bottle of water and provided me with prebiotic drinks . Breakfast is left in your room so if you have an early start you can still eat and take your own made up rolls with you. Excellent service and if not in the loft apartments very quiet.

CanadaEverything was exceptional at Casona La Recoleta. We arrived late and Agustin received us at the front desk, gave us thorough explanation of the place and gladly gave us water to drink and said we could pay him later (as we didn't have local currency at the moment). He started the fireplace in our room so we could be warm. The room was amazing, we rented a family cabin style room, with living room, kitchen, two full bathrooms, bedroom and upstairs area with 3 more beds. The place was even better than in the photos. The balcony had a fantastic view of the garden, the mountains and Cusco. The cabin was cozy, very well decorated, super clean and had plenty of blankets. Breakfast is included in the rate. As we had a kitchen and fridge, we had everything we needed for breakfast: eggs, cheese, yogurth, plenty of fresh fruit and avocados, fresh bread, coffee, sugar. I can't express how amazed we were of the amount and quality of food. Every day they replenished what we ate. It was great to be able to have breakfast with the family in the cozy cabin. Every night Agustin or Edy would come and start the fireplace for us. Nuria at the front desk (manager/owner?) was fantastic as well. She helped us with our requests, went above and beyond and was extremely friendly. The location could not be better, just a few minutes walking from the Plaza Mayor and plenty of restaurants, laundromats, stores, coffee shops around. I recommend this place to everyone going to Cusco. If I ever go back to Cusco I would stay at Casona La Recoleta, it was truly like staying at home. Thanks!

United StatesBeautiful grounds, comfortable beds, the loft style rooms we stayed in were great for our group of five. It was also wonderful having breakfast items placed in our room for the next morning. We also did a four day hike to Machu Picchu and they let us keep our bags at their place during our time away. We loved the property and would definitely stay again!

CanadaSuper narrow street for access for tour pickups etc, but truly only a very minor inconvenience, which would not stop me from booking again.
Great staff. An oasis off the busy streets. Stayed in 2 different suites, vintage, and newer; both with lots of room. They stored our bags while on the Inca trail. Great value. Would recommend.

United StatesNice place, tough to get wifi in either bedrooms and the loft floor which is the ceiling of the bedroom below, squeals like a banshee. Matter of fact whole apartment floor (was built in the 1920's so...) screams and moans, so if your a light sleeper bring ear plugs. Other than those 2 things the place is perfectly fine and had plenty of hot water for showers.
