How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

We had an internal room which was a bit hot for us so we had to use a fan. While the beds were comfortable, this heat made it a bit tricky to sleep.
Beautiful place, delicious breakfast, attentive service, lots of nice touches. Comfortable beds, and an excellent spread for breakfast including personalised cooked options like waffles, pancakes and omelettes. Much better quality hotel than many we have stayed at in Cusco for the same price.

We had a street front room and it did get a little noisy at times.
The location was excellent, the service was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. There was lots of extras like tea (including Lima tea on arrival) and water. The breakfast range was huge and included individually cooked hot breakfast.

Room without window outside, we had a window onside hotel to look on the stairs. But it wasnt a problem for us.

Staff should inform that the water is turned off in Cusco at night. It's not the hotel's fault that the city turns off the water, but knowing that would have allowed us to wash ourselves earlier

The location had its pros and cons. It was close to the everything so it did make it easy to walk everywhere. However it was very noisy with the constant traffic up and down the road and beeping of cars. The room also got pretty hot since there isn’t any AC but we asked for a fan which was provided to us.
Loved the breakfast and tea station in the lobby and the staff were was always very polite and friendly. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable.

Sadly we didn't sleep very well possibly due to the time of year we were visiting. Room was a bit hot and stuffy. Beds were very comfortable and shower was brilliant.
The staff. Nothing was ever too much trouble. They treated us like family rather than paying guests. Special mentions to Karen and Corina on reception and Gabriel and Diana in the breakfast room.

On a Saturday night having a room to the street there was almost no chance to sleep due to constant honking of cars right in front of the window.
Nice staff, very clean, comfortable room, good breakfast, central location.

Good location, within walking distance of most of Cusco tourist sites, such as Plaza de Arms, market place, museums. Beds were comfy and clean and there is lots of tea to drink in your room which helps a lot with the elevation when you first arrive.

wifi was a little spotty in some rooms and there was some noise from outside at night. So if that woould bother you bring ear plugs.
Staff was extremely helpful and kind. Hotel was very quaint, with comfortable rooms, private baths. Variety of pillows to choose from on the bed. Location was great, very cental to historical center of town. The front desk arranged cars to and from the airport for us. Very good included breakfast and on days we had early tours the provided a large breakfast to go. Also variety of teas availble in the lobby and filtered water.

So, the hardest part was the traffic noise- which is not the hotels fault. Cusco taxi's LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to use their horns. Cusco also likes to party UNTIL 6am, and then it starts all over again. We had an early morning and Saturday night was flat out AWFUL! Our room overlooked the street, which was a sweet view (kind of like being on a European street), but just with flat out ridiculous car noise. So if you are a light, medium or almost deep sleeper, you will hear the horns going ALL night. It may be different if you are in an inner hotel room. I did read reviews, but overlooked this. I would try staying again, but only if I was in an inner room- or they did something to the windows/door to make them sound proof.
The location was great! The hotel was quaint and small and all of our families rooms were right on the main floor area. We could not hear anything from the inside with people walking through the lobby. Very close to the square and chocolate museum and close enough to a great little crepe shop a couple blocks away. The breakfast was amazing and the front desk ladies were wonderful, kind and helpful.

The location, while in the historic center and convenient to everything, it is on a street with heavy traffic - albeit, Cusco is a small congested town. The room was a bit noisy, but the desk manger allowed us to use a fan which drowned out a lot of noise.
Staff and check-in were great. Breakfast outstanding!
