Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe hotel requires you to drop off your room key when leaving the hotel and pick it up again from a plate near the entrance when returning to the hotel. While there was always someone around when getting your key I was slightly concerned about this practice. Because cars cannot get to the hotel you will have to carry your luggage either up a set of stairs or through the alleys.
Great location in a very quite alley with only foot traffic (a lot of streets in Ollantaytambo are based on the original Inca layout and are not wide enough for cars). Staff were very friendly and spoke some English. Excellent breakfast. A few minutes walk to the main square and restaurants, about a 10 minute walk to the main Archaeological site. The train station is a 15 minute walk from the hotel but, from the main square the Tuk-Tuk taxis charge under 5 soles for a ride to the station.

Marcela was fantastic! Giving us ideas of local trails and restaurants. Breakfast was excellent. Location was fantastic but be aware that the round cobblestones are not appropriate for rolling luggage.

From easy check in, to our room and the views, to the wonderful breakfast, to the staff who were all fantastic, to the close location to the main square, but not too close, it was wonderful and the value was fantastic. Room was clean, beds were very comfortable, shower was hot. Don't hesitate to stay here, it was great!

Marcella went above and beyond with everything even before we arrived- great communication and when we met her we were so impressed with her warmth and concern for our comfort. She helped arrange transportation from Cusco airport and from the hotel back to Cusco making things very easy for us. The hotel was lovely and the rooms on the top floor with the balcony had spectacular views.

Hong KongIt’s nice to have the top rooms that open on the terrace, but that does come with the potential that others will sit outside your room and make noise, or in my case, make calls to overseas relatives on speaker! Generally shouldn’t be an issue if other guests are considerate.
Enjoyable and relaxing stay. Nice property, well apportioned rooms with good views from the terrace, helpful and welcoming staff and a decent breakfast. Short walk to the main square and restaurants. Longer walk or a quick moto-taxi (tuk tuk) ride to the Inca or Peru rail terminals. The hotel also helped to arrange Carlos, an English speaking driver/guide who helped me with a private transfer back to a Cusco, whilst stopping at key sights in Sacred Valley en route. Recommended if you need to do the same and is reasonably priced versus the tour agencies.

The breakfast spread was absolutely delicious! Maricela was a huge help in getting us restaurant reservations for my large group of students (15 people). When we had to leave early (3:30 am) for our flight out of Cusco, she arranged that our students would have bag lunches, as we were leaving before breakfast

United StatesWe stayed 3 nights at Intitambo while touring the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu and we were very happy. This hotel had the authentic feel of small town Peru. The rooms were very clean and as expected. The included breakfast was good and there was plenty of food. The owners and staff take pride the establishment and in taking care of guests. Our welcome and stay here was a warm reception. Marcela helped coordinate tours, rides, and restaurant recommendations. I recommend this hotel, you will not find anything better without greatly overspending.

AustraliaMarcella was just fabulous, especially considering our poor Spanish. We started for three nights with our one year old daughter, so having her help was amazing. She assisted us with everything we needed and gave us great advice about local sights, transport and food. We especially enjoyed her hand drawn maps! Our room was comfortable and clean. The terrace had the most gorgeous view of the Archeological Park. Breakfast was always fresh, with fruits, juices, drinking yoghurt, eggs, pancakes, ham and a selection of breads and condiments - preparing us well for long hikes and exploring. It was also incredibly helpful to have boiled drinking water, hot water and tea/coffee available 24/7. The hotel is situated very close to the Plaza de Armas and to all local ruins. All round a fabulous place to stay.

Good location, great view of the ruins. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very nice with brewed coffee! And they offer laundry service
