WiFi was pretty patchy and non-existent at times, but given the geography, it is probably a common problem. The 7am whistle from the PeruRail train wasn't always a welcome alarm call! 😂

All was great, there was nothing we didn’t like. The place was beyond our expectations.

The property was amazing! The entire place was neat and beautiful. We wish we had more time and stayed there longer just to enjoy their gardens, living room spaces and the relaxing feeling yoi get as soon as you arrive. A gem in middle of the mountains in a small town. We couldn’t have chosen better. the staff was great too!!! Friendly, welcoming and more importantly, made us feel like it was family, safe. Breakfast was great, delicious bread! Thank you so very much for everything. We would definitely recommend and go back 😊

A big garden, big room, the host Tula. We just loved our stay in Ollantaytambo and in Samanapaq. So did our kids. It was relaxing yet wonderful to explore and Tula was of great help to provide informations, tips and simply chat with! Thank you so much! Was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Peru!

Very close to the center, 5 minutes from the central square, but in a very quiet area. There is a huge indoor garden. The owner speaks excellent English. Very clean and calm.

Very helpful and thoughtful staff, and will take care of all your needs. Clear communication, as well as helped with booking transfers, guides etc. Very helpful with suggestions and ideas for newcomers as well. Good location. Also beautiful open spaces inside to spend a lazy day.

Fabulous hotel! Excellent location a very short walk to the central plaza and walkable to the train station. Each room is uniquely decorated with very comfortable beds and cozy warm comforters. There are several living room areas to sit and read or talk or play games. The breakfast room is lovely and we really enjoyed the breakfast buffet and freshly made eggs. The property also includes a lovely garden. We stayed at the hotel before and after doing the Inca Trail—it was an excellent location and the hotel cared for our luggage. It would be just as convenient for people seeking to take the train to Machu Picchu or travel in the Sacred Valley. Tula was a fabulous hostess and gave us recommendations on places to go and also arranged transportation for us. Our family really enjoyed our stay.

I don’t have enough words for how much I appreciate this place. we came not feeling the best and amazing Tula gave us the best room (number 3) spacious, with view to the beautiful garden, inside the main hacienda that is fantastic with a fire place in the living room they we enjoyed in the evenings. Tula made our stay so much better with warm water for tea all the time to our room, best recommendations for walking around, the breakfast is really nice and she upgraded it for us since we are vegetarian. everything she did was with so much generosity. we healed in this place. Thanks so much Tula for everything. we will miss this place, already are.

We absolutely loved staying at Hotel Samanapaq. We descended in altitude to Ollantaytambo due to suffering from altitude sickness, and Tula (the manager) was incredible from start to finish - calling a doctor to come straight away, recommending dishes that would be okay to eat with sickness, printing off everything we needed, and ensuring we had hot water every night to take to our room to make tea. The breakfast was delicious and the most diverse we had in Peru (fresh fruit, cereal, yoghurt, eggs, cakes, bread). The location is perfect and there is a delightfully large garden and grounds to sit in and relax. Our best stay in Peru and if we come back we will be sure to stay at Hotel Samanapaq!

It seems to me that they would tell you to put a little more effort in fixing the phone, but the rest is all very well the phone because I tried to communicate and I could never confirm if my reservation was made.

The rooms were stark, beds were uncomfortable, and the toilet had to be adjusted each time it was flushed because it wouldn’t stop running.

The woman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. She let us store our bags here for free so we didn’t have to take them to Machu Picchu even though we only stayed here one night. She says it’s a service she provides with the room. She also had breakfast waiting for us so that we could quickly make an egg sandwich and eat it on our walk to the train station.

What a great find! The location was close enough to the main square to walk in a couple of minutes but far enough away so we had some peace and quiet. The staff were amazing with helpful advice whenever we asked for it. Our room was perfect and we were also next to the common living room with a fireplace that we enjoyed with pizza one night.
